Okay, made a profile and sent messages to maybe 9 or 10 girls who seemed smart/pretty/interesting. I'm not looking for random tail or airheads but girls who I could spend time with and get along with as well as bone hopefully. Haven't gotten any responses yet though which is discouraging. Openers were just casual greetings or simple questions referring to information in profiles. My thinking is that any girl who gets a message will check the sender's profile so profile is much more important than opener. So as long as the opener causes no negative reaction it should be fine if the profile is good. Btw, many of the smart/pretty girls on myspace seem to be very averse to any sort of pickup lines or perceived manipulation (with good reason I'm sure). So I'm not sure all the usual tricks apply. This shouldn't be too much of a problem as I'm not looking to manipulate. At least not past the point that is inherent to any social interaction between male/female. But still it seems important not to come across that way.
Also, how much is having no friends hurting me? Sent out a few invites to some friends who I searched for but most aren't into this thing. Thought I'd post it here for some feedback as some people seem to have pretty useful knowledge about this stuff. That said, please do not respond if you're a dumb ass. Thanks for help. |

Well I'm not looking to get an award for it. Just seemed a fitting title for the pic.

Sorry, Dane, but the juxtaposition of "I have many great friends in the city..." and "xxx has 1 friend..." immediately below made me guffaw.
I think friends really are important to the whole MySpace thing. |
