Default Re: SSNL [cheese] thread: OCT 2 (nc)

I just wanted to say that I still find the ssnl vs msnl dynamic a bit strange. There are people playing 0.5/1 who are obviously good yet keep playing 0.5/1 (terp, speedlimits, bilbo). There are people playing 1/2 who are obviously good and are raking in decent moneys yet keep playing 1/2 (shpanko, orange, hobo, clever) . Then you have a bunch of SSNL graduates who in no time play monster stakes (schultz?, snake). Then you have oddballs like aislesphive who was a breakeven player at 1/2 for months and suddenly is all the fuss at MSNL, with one of the biggest egos out there. Then you have some 1/2ers who suddenly get it, move up to 2/4 and don't look back (Unknown soldier, Fletcher). Or people who seem to be heading the same path but then crash and burn and have to retool and rebuild (lobster).

I find it fascinating yet strange.

edit: stay tooned for next week's "The Sagas of SSNL"

I played maybe for 2nd time with a good LAG who was very tough post flop and who actually knew how to switch gears and when to be aggressive. Most lags are either too predictable or passive, or just over aggressive. And all you have to wait for them to bluff their stack away with some retarded bluff. (allthough i make those sometimes too when i tilt lol). It was really really tough playing him, now i know what these 5/10 and 10/20 guys go through every day lol. every pot with him was pretty stressfull, since you cant mindlessly cbet the 3rd time in a row without expecting to get check raised or something.

Also just finished an 10 hour session, like 3k+ hand played 4 tabling? playing 33/28, im exhausted lol. Also since i ran like total jackshit the first 2200 hands. Finally up 800.

Also i installed a punch bag next to my pc, and it works great so far. I beat the fking thing when i get bad beats lol.

I really think you should make a video. Your playing style fascinates me (I'm serious). You seem to play super LAG and I have trouble getting my vpip for a sesh over 26.

My game is deteriorating to [censored], and I'm no longer running hot .
Here's my lifetime graph at stars 1/2. Being breakeven my last 50k hands makes me really want to quit poker.

I'm breakeven for like the last 70k hands so don't worry. God I wish if I could get my green line over my blue line like you.

ah, that's why you asked.

i have only played 100k hands of nl, i used to have alot of tilt problems that's why the 1st 50k were tough, then i sorted myself out and moved up quickly. It's just a personal preference really. Some don't like gambling with that kind of money. Some just like to make a steady decent rate at ssnl. Personally it's less about the money and more about just playing poker and challanging myself. I know that kinda contradicts my reason for moving down, but i felt it was a good choice, and should be back in no time. *fingers crossed*

Varrrrrrrrriiiiiiiannnnnnnnceeeeeeeeee. A lot of what you just wrote is 100% b/c of variance. Good and Bad. It depends on when you run good, when you run bad. One bad shot can wreck a poker career. One bad hand even. One good session at 5/10 can send you into orbit. A decent example is like 3 months ago when you had your huge month, moved up to 2/4 and thought it clicked. Then it crashed. It happens like that.

And its not like you can't make very very good money at even .5/1. A lotta people lose sight of that. (and to fix the people I know are wrong, terp is at 1/2. A5 doesn't really have the big of an ego, he just posts a ton, shultz ss's higher stakes atm)

(sry mods if this is wrong forum - im just looking for a quick answer before i get lost in the software forum)

SSNL, i want to datamine FTP. So far ive read about Spade Eye, Sixth Sense, AHK Hot Keys.
Basically what is the easiest way to datamine FTP? There seems so many options?!?!? (confused)

[/ QUOTE ]

You don't need any of those programs if all you want to do is open up a bunch of tables FT and record hand histories. You just have to go PT and check a box for "observed hands" under Auto-import FT Hands. You can open up to 16 tables at a time. Now if you want to have a program that opens up tables as people come and go, you'll need SpadeEye or IdleMiner but I've never used those before really.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, thats what i thought, so spade eye's extra feature is that it basically helps me to table select once i have the data?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes.

[/ QUOTE ]

can i just say i [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SSNL, always there for my every query. muchos thanks.

so, is spade eye actually worth it, i play nl100, nl200 and just hop in an out of tables if full of tags? is spade eye only really worthwhile as u step up the stakes? (ie. less fish to find)

For the graph fanboys:

Currently 600-something rakeback.

The graph starts at 1/2 and I was playing 0.25/0.50 at the bottom.
