Be thankful he was all-in for two bets on the river or you would have lost another $2

Wow. Really tough one.

Yeah. That one would especially suck if he was at a BBJ table and didn't even qualify (quad 8's or better cracked, no?).

Tenth: This is exactly the location for that sort of post.

Good to know it's the right place.

I looked into it afterwards, hoping I may have somehow qualified. It is quad 8s or better cracked at Party, at 2/4 or higher, using both hole cards for the players involved.

From the flop I had a strong feeling he had 88. I was hoping it was J8 or a flopped straight, but I had such a bad feeling about it.

Guess this is a good place to post a hand I actually played on the Bad Beat Jackpot tables:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $2.
2 folds, MP1 calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) checks, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, MP1 calls, CO folds, Button folds.

Turn: (4 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, MP1 3-bets, SB folds, Hero caps, MP1 calls.

River: (13 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 17 BB

Results:
Hero has 3d 3h (four of a kind, threes).
MP1 has 9s Ad (four of a kind, aces).
Outcome: MP1 wins 17 BB.

Jackpot was around $200k at the time. [Big Sigh]

(And yeah, I probably shouldn't have bet the river...)

Here's an interesting "nut low" overcall, and it's an all in call too. I was scratching my head for a while after this one... too bad I wasn't the beneficiary...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

MP2 ($5.21)
MP3 ($28.15)
CO ($57.30)
Button ($26.60)
SB ($24.80)
BB ($25)
UTG ($7.30)
Hero ($24.61)
UTG+2 ($26)
MP1 ($19.54)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
3 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, MP2 calls $0.25, 3 folds, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($1) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 bets $0.25, MP2 calls $0.25, SB calls $0.25, BB calls $0.25.

Turn: ($2) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 bets $0.25, MP2 calls $0.25, SB calls $0.25, BB calls $0.25.

River: ($3) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB calls $24.05 (All-In), BB calls $24.05, MP1 folds, MP2 calls $4.46 (All-In).

Final Pot: $55.56

Results below:
SB has As 5d (two pair, aces and fives).
BB has 3s 4s (high card, ace).
MP2 has 9d Th (two pair, tens and nines).
Outcome: SB wins $55.56.

The poker gods were clearly smiling on me when this happened. I was multitabling, and while trying to make a table the active window, accidentally clicked the raise button with 4-10o. This is what then happened:

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, Hero raises, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO (poster) calls, 2 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (10.40 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, CO folds, BB calls.

Turn: (6.70 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets, Hero calls, MP1 folds.

River: (8.70 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 10.70 BB

Results
BB has 8c 9c (two pair, tens and nines).
Hero has 4h Ts (three of a kind, tens).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.70 BB.

I couldn't help wondering afterwards: maybe when you see insane action, it's because hamfisted people can't click the right button?

The convertor won't do this properly, had to complete it by hand.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)
Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, UTG calls, MP1 calls.

Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Enough said.
