ElD,

Off the top of my head:

Ribs: I've had them with blue cheese and it's been very good.
Hot Links: Every Easter my aunt serves sliced hot links with a cheese sauce that's very good, although that might be too much preparation to fit the rules.
Grapefruit: I haven't had the pulp of a grapefruit with chocolate, although I've had chocolate covered grapefruit peels that were excellent.
Carpaccio: I see carpaccio served with mozzarella all the time.

ElD,

I'm sorry. I have a midterm to study for and I'm doing my best not to spend an hour searching for different combinations of cheese or chocolate with all of those various different foods, as tempting as it may be.

chess,

There's a difference imo between "could/would eat with" and "enhanced by" cheese.

Sure, I could dip a great porterhouse into cheese sauce. I'd like it better if I didn't, though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Whereas I personally agree that cheese doesn't enhance a good steak (even though some do put blue cheese on expensive steaks), I gave the example of cheesesteak--which is melted cheese on top of fairly low grade steak--for which I believe the cheese is definately an "enhancer."

Yeah, it's good on garbage beef, but not stuff you really wanted to savor.

I still wish this was over which is better Cheese or Chocolate, or which one you would give up forever if you were forced to make a choice

Id have to go with Cheese, I could live without chocolate, but no cheese and Im swingin

[/ QUOTE ]

I could live without meat -- and have -- but life without cheese is a sad affair.

I'd be fine never eating chocolate again for the rest of my life. I just don't think it's that exceptional, not for me anyway. I like savory much much more than sweet. Gimme that garlic, them onions, those pickles, that chicken with the perfectly crisp skin ...

ElD,

I'll remember. However, I did mention that I've seen lemon sorbet served with a bitter chocolate sauce, I've had BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Cheddar Cheese, and I'll see if I can find anything about the rest, although the tartares might be the weak link.

Dom,

It was mentioned earlier that sushi is sometimes prepared with cream cheese.
