It's written in a book so it must be true! [/ QUOTE ] Seriously. Bonds took steroids. Lots of them. As did McGwire, Sosa, Palmerio, Canseco, and Roger Clemens. Just accept it. (at least about Bonds) Any athlete who does not take performance enhancing drugs is consciously hurting his career. Just look at the Olympics. Dozens of athletes are banned/ drop out of competition for testing positive, or knowing they would test positive, and the money involved in the Olypmics is generally much smaller than in baseball. |

[ QUOTE ]
It's still all unrevealed sources. Reveal sources, show these actual records that they claim to have/seen, and then we can talk truth. [/ QUOTE ] Iggy, I was under the impression that the idea of the book was that they were going to reveal their sources. Bonds's ex-girlfriend, guys at the gym who supplied Anderson, Victor Conte's testimony and police statment. Calenders from Anderson and Conte. Even in the excerpts it seems like they divulge each and everyone of their 200 interviewies. And JoA I had no idea. |

How stupid is it that Selig is considering suspending Bonds?
I'm not talking about the morals of what Bonds did here.. but it seems ridicoulous for Selig to suspend someone for steroid use when baseball, MLB, and the players association did nothing about it for years. Their lack of action should salvage Bonds violations, I feel. |

WOW! Look at his freaking skull. I don't know anyone who has had their cranium circumference increase like that in their mid-30's.

The union will have a hard time fighting for Bonds, but I'm sure will find a roundabout legal way. My guess is this falls apart somewhere and he never gets suspended. I am also interested to see what happens with some of the IRS implications from this book. And there will be heavy presure on the DA's office to file perjury charges. |

"Anyone with half a brain could see the freakish changes that his body had undergone, and the only explanation HAD to be steroids" I'm really sad this is turning out to be true, because the argument above sucks, and I hate that people who used it will feel validated [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like you don't know much about sports training or sports medicine, sucks people like you make the above retort. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think what the government will do is very interesting. the fact it appears pretty obvious Bonds lied in front of a grand jury should lead to some trouble. I am a huge Giants fan, and have been all my life. This is a touchy subject for me, and I'm not sure how to react. I will always love Bonds, and nothing will change that. However, his records will never be the same to me, and I will never look at his previous accomplishments (7 MVP's, 600/700 home runs) with such admiration. |

One of the best to ever play the game. I'm so glad I got to grow up watching him play. Cement his place in Cooperstown becuase he's coming there.
