The game was built on gambling and corruption for the first 30-50 years of its existence. Blacks weren't allowed to play until 1947. Players were slaves until '76. Greenies have been apart of the game since the "golden age" stars like Mantle, Mays, Aaron, etc. Cocaine replaced a beer as the post-game ritual in the 70s and 80s.

Today's era is no worse than years past.
