i always laugh when people try and have a serious convo that god exists. i always say that i have faith and pray to a celestial teapot that lives in the universe and can't be seen. i say it gives me the confidence etc to live my life.

then the religiousers call me stupid and that the teapot dont exist and how i can believe that [censored]?

i mention a pot kettle black situation and walk off laughing

[/ QUOTE ]

believing in a celestial teapot is much more stupid than believing in some sort of higher power

Why does everyone seem to have so much disdain for Christians that simply want you to have the same joy that they have.

[/ QUOTE ]Atheists divorce less often and go to prison much less often than Christians. These are provable facts. Your assertion that Christians are more "joyful" is not provable. I have plenty of joy in my life.

[/ QUOTE ]

proof plz

I wasn't trying to "prove" who has more joy, or who divorces or goes to prison more. I'm simply wondering why it's so offensive and rage inciting to be approached by a Christian.

.
Imagine if your beliefs were attacked every day. If you were considered to be on a lower level than these others simply because you believed in something different. Imagine if a large group of people wanted to use the governemnt to force you to accept the same moral code as them.

I suffer from depression and currently see a shrink. A few times I have been told it was because I didnt' accept jesus in my life, and that there were demons oppressing me.

It is simply because they aren't bringing anything new to you when they approach you. HAI GUYS have you heard of something called christianity?

If you were constantly approached about the ways of islam and how you should convert, you'd get sick of it as well

I agree 100%. I'm really getting sick & tired of people making fun of something I believe in very strongly.

i just find it condescending, myself. i rarely feel rage toward the person unless they're totally relentless in their pursuit of my salvation.

i believe it's not only egotistical, but borderline insane to imply that i have no clue how to properly live my life and am eternally doomed because i don't believe in ghosts that live in the sky.

edit: and keep in mind, according to them i'm only supposed to believe in the Christian ghosts, not any of the other ones that others allege exist.

since i am not extremely religious by any means, I do not personally care. However, if other people believe strongly in something, I think disagreeing is fine but straight up calling it stupid is ignorant imo. In the same league as people calling Middle Eastern people terrorists, just dumb.
