Also, you must realise that people who publicly doubt Eddie will become known to him as he now reads this. Think about that one. [/ QUOTE ] ship the recordings and maybe i'll hold the tomato's up myself so he can use the bo shuriken to get the rent from you. I only fear unretired ninja. (oh wait, plus heights and bee's) |

Do ninjas have workers' compensation insurance? Are they unionized at all?
Because they might eventually go senile and spill the secrets of their crimes and their deadly art, can a ninja be allowed to die of old age and perhaps unmonitored? Or must he be killed for safety's sake? Does Eddie worry that if he starts slipping up in his old age, a "clean up crew" will come around and tie up the loose ends? |

Best thread I've read in a long time. I lost it when I read that Anacardo might be ninja worthy. hahahaha

So I went up to see Eddie today before he leaves for the weekend. I went to apologise for foolishly offering to post pictures of his house on OOT. The conversation went something along these lines, (I didn't take my recorder.)
Eddie: Take pictures of my house? I don't know what you're talking about. Me: Didn't you read my post in OOT today? Eddie: I read OOT yesterday. Why would I need to read it again? So you've been trying to impress your internet friends, eh? Offering to post pictures of the ninja's house? Me: Yeah, I know. Pretty pathetic. Eddie: Considering that it just looks like any other damn house and wouldn't prove a thing, yeah, pretty pathetic. Me: Does that mean I can do it then? Eddie: No, don't be an idiot. Listen, I've been checking out the strategy forums. I want you to help me learn poker. Me: Limit or no limit? Because I can only teach you limit, my no limit is pretty crap. Eddie: Limit it is. Me: So will you teach me some ninja stuff if I teach you poker? Eddie: No. But I will teach you how to play, Go. Me: Go? What's, Go? Eddie Go is an ancient Chinese board game that we play in Japan. It is a wonderful startegic game of perfect information. It is man versus self. Me: Can we bet on the outcome? Eddie: No. This is not a gambling game. I will give you your first Go lesson on Tuesday. Then you can give me my first poker lesson. And then he told me that he had to leave. It has been raining since yesterday, and there is fresh snow on the upper slopes. This Go game better be good that's all I can say. |

The rules of Go are simple but the strategy is more complex than chess and difficult to learn.

"pretty pathetic." "don't be an idiot." "No." "No." then he had to leave. [/ QUOTE ] awesome. was eddie instructed in Buddhism? perhaps he could explain this zen koan, which I have never understood. "Gutei's Finger" Zen master Gutei raised his finger whenever he was asked a question about Zen. A young novice began to imitate him in this way. When Gutei was told about the novice's imitation, he sent for him and asked him if it were true. The novice admitted it was so. Gutei asked him if he understood. In reply the novice held up his index finger. Gutei promptly cut it off. The novice ran from the room, howling in pain. As he reached the threshold, Gutei called, "Boy!" When the novice turned, Gutei raised his index finger. At that instant, the novice was enlightened. |
