[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Sure she wants to get home, but she still feels that he's her best chance of doing that. [/ QUOTE ] but just before the plane crash scene, she (again) demands to be taken home, and Ben refuses. plus there was all the stuff earlier in season about how she wanted Ben dead so she could go home. that trickery failed when Jack double-tricked her. I think there is a decent chance Juliette is still searching for her angle to get the hell out of dodge, and will doublecross Ben. also, Jack has turned into a wussy. he must have been brainwashed, b/c he's completely changed. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah - there is an obvious affectation to Jack now. The way he speaks and acts - he just isn't the same guy. I would think that someone like Sayid (who used to make a living reading people) would pick up on this. So if Juliette's in on whatever is going on with the Others - where does that leave Locke? Is he just being taken for a ride by Ben? Or did the offscreen meeting he had with his dad convert him to an Other? |

One thing we know for sure is that from Juliette's point of view, Jack isn't brainwashed. Else Juliette would not have had to ask why he trusts her.

The person who mentioned Jack's lack of curiosity is dead on. I think in general the Losties are really bad at this. Sayid and Sawyer are the only ones who consistantly ask the questions everybody would ask.
I really wanted Sayid to say "And that matters why?" to Jack when he was all "She's under my protection". I would love, at this point, to watch a straight hour of Sayid just stabbing Jack with things. Way to make your main character REALLY unlikable. I thought the ep was decent, liked what we learned about the others. Whatever happened to Desmond's gf and the end of last season? |

Whatever happened to Desmond's gf and the end of last season? [/ QUOTE ] this has been infuriating to me. the snow hut and the phone call to her from the Portuguese guys was an awesome twist to throw in at the end, and it's been completely ignored. at this point I can only hope they show us 30 more seconds of this before this season ends so I can be teased more. |

I'd suggest looking at the time of posts before reading them (scroll slowly). [/ QUOTE ] I was trying that, but got sidetracked somehow and scrolled too far. Ray |

The anagram folks on the LOST boards are at it again.
Herarat Aviation was the company name Juliette departed from. Besides the obvious 'her a rat' = Juliette, there is a more interesting take: Herarat = Earhart, as in Amelia Earhart, whose plane disappeared around the islands some have speculated could be the location of 'the' island. Earhart had her navigator Fred Noonan on board. Amelia & Fred = Adam & Eve??? Interesting theory... |

I'm actually OK with Jack's lack of curiosity at this point. At this point it has been fairly obvious that the Others either won't give away anything important, or will trick or lie about what they do say. So either Jack has finally just decided "F*ck it, this is all so weird anyways, who cares when I find out the answers" or he is just biding his time, getting her to trust him, so that when she finally does tell him something he can actually believe it.
Really enjoyed the episode. Loved the dialogue between Juliette and Sayid: "You'll kill me if I tell you the truth" "And what do you think I'll do if you don't?" |

I mentioned above that I don't like how one of my favorite (if not my favorite) characters, Jack, is turning into a bit of a pud that even I can't defend.
I've decided to assume that they're setting this up to play off somethign later on in his character. And that idea excites me. Go Jack! |

Theres no real reason to think Jack has been brainwashed...Overall if you look at the series as a whole he rarely made "great" decision. So for him to make this blunder is really in character for how naive he is.
Sawyer is a much better leader overall as he doesnt fall for everything someone says. |
