"If (Mrs. Shulman) is correct, as she usually is .... "
Hey, a baseball player who hits 300 is great, Mrs. Shulman barely hits her weight. That you follow her articles faithfully explains a lot, such as your inexplicable belief about the WTO being a defense in a criminal action |

[ QUOTE ] So if they can't travel to the US, why not make some money? [/ QUOTE ] Because they are a publicly traded company, and because they promised their shareholders and everyone else that they would comply with US law. I don't think they have much choice but to pull out now. [/ QUOTE ] When a business climate changes, publicly traded companies can change their plans and aren't locked into "promises". Especially if the choice is losing 85% of their customers. |

[ QUOTE ]
How are they charging Lefebvre with a crime that occurred 8 months after he resigned from the company ? SF [/ QUOTE ] He is the founder/creater of Neteller, and is still the majority shareholder. The FBI pierced the corporate shield to gain access to the individuals because it cannot easily get the corporation. Over time we might discover that this is likely to be far more standard than we all seem to think. this snipit was clipped from the Neteller IPO by Sniper, which is being used as evidence against the two gentlemen: ![]() TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

The complaint specifically accuses the defendants of conspiring to commit money laundering "from in or about June 1999, up to and including in or about January 2007."

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Im going a little off topic but this seemed like a good place to post my thought. I think we call all agree that this is not a good thing for poker players in general, regardless of what happens as a result. So where is our advocacy group? I looked in on the PPA website a while ago, no mention of this. I went to their forums and it was a ghost town. We really need some sort of representation unless we want to live from crisis to crisis. [/ QUOTE ] PPA is a SCAM... they have refused to refute the allegation... [/ QUOTE ] Not very helpful really. The PPA tried to do something about this before UIGEA. They are on the side of the angels even if they are far frome perfect. The anger should be against the opponents of poker not those that support it. [/ QUOTE ] Richas, I am not angry... I would not be surprised if the PPA President was arrested though... [/ QUOTE ] The PPA just won't have anything to do with the 2+2, that's all. I can call or email them right now and talk to Michael while he's in DC. Let's stay focussed on the task at hand, and that's getting our game legal. The only statement from the PPA regarding 2+2 will probably be a slander lawsuit, but they don't have time to deal with that right now. |

I don't think there would be any grounds for the PPA to file a slander suit, the only thing 2+2 has said about PPA is that they don't tell people a whole lot of information. That's pretty much true.

Neteller has officially announced it is suspending US transactions. Anybody know of other options to transfer funds to PokerStars or FullTilt?

Do you have a link to that, Gavin? I just checked the "Non-Serviced Countries List", and we're not up there currently...
