You know somewhere out there Matusow is saying "I told you so."

Seriously though its a freaking retarded game we play. I've dropped all the way dwon to 2/4 6max in an attempt to win again. I just put in 4500 hands today and made $83. And I'm actually pretty happy with that. So sad.

I can't add anything you don't already know, but you actually seem pretty cool.

Why don't you just learn NL from the bottom up.

Take $250, play $25 game, Move up everytime you have 10-12 buy-ins. The trip across the limits will expose you to different styles.

[/ QUOTE ]

why not just start at .01/.02nl?

obviously the styles you encounter at baby stakes nl can only improve your ability to beat higher games. and winning 4 bucks an hour playing with money that means nothing to you is a great time.

in fact, you should probably just start at baby stakes play money no limit and move up from there. this way you're truly exposed to the full range of styles.

Actually he should start at the Play Money tables and not move up to .01/.02nl until he can consistently win. He'll learn so many new concepts at the Play Money tables that it will be almost impossible for him not to turn his game around.

BK, stick to limit. I play some NL every now and again and it is pretty profitable, but it is so God-aweful boring to me. I know many LHE regulars feel the same way.

I also like the idea of a bad hand only taking a few extra BBs off me instead of a whole buy-in.

Honestly, this is how I feel about NL as well. Yes, I don't make enough, LHE is all donk play, yada yada yada. But I got hooked on this game at the casino a long time ago for the reason of it being exciting, and LHE still keeps it somewhat exciting, even with good play

NL sucks ass to actually play, you NEVER have the best hand EVER, and if you do, play it super weak and win money.

NL - fold fold fold fold fold call check and hope he bets fold fold fold fold fold fold fold fold.

I think BK should start off learning snap, to get the fundementals of cards sorted out.

Oh, and these assesments of NL are grotesquely over-simplified.

You're right, but NL is extremely boring to me. I have ADD, so that probably explains it.
