Tokyo,

I tend to think of any true knowledge as fractal. Once you learn everything, you still have everything to learn. I understand what you're saying though.

Amp will always have a special place in my heart and he probably doesn’t even know why.

A bit about myself.

25 in a month, I have lived in Las Vegas since September. I work for Caesars since January, just started graveyard and rarely play poker anymore. I miss Michigan sometimes. But mostly I find it hard to meet people in Las Vegas.

I don't drink much because I have to sit and wait long enough to sober up and drive home. I never had that problem in Ann Arbor as I was able to walk home. I might have to visit local 'video poker' bars and see what the scene is like. On the other side of vegas it was bad, but I have moved into a more populated area.

I have been on a few dates since moving here, but nothing special. Hopefully graveyard wont destroy my little chances left. I am good looking, but don't put myself in the best spots to succeed in being social.

Here goes. My name is Mitch, I am 33 and have been married for six years. We just moved out of Washington DC and into the Virginia suburbs. I work as a Financial Planner and my wife is an Economist with the Federal Gov't. My clients are almost all Cops and Firefighters which is kind of cool. I get to do financial planning for real people instead of the wealthy who just want to get wealthier. Of course it helps to be in one of the only places in the country where cops make over 100k.

I have a daughter who is almost 14. I had her when I was 19 and in college, not a path I recommend, but it worked itself out. She is a great kid and is going to Ireland for the summer to do a study program in Dublin. She lives with her mother in the middle of nowhere, New Hampshire. We have a great relationship and she is here often.

I made my way through college dealing in used and rare books. It started when I bought a set of the 1st American editions of Lord of the Rings in a bookstore for $30 and resold them for $1200. I built the business by buying from auction houses in Britain and reselling on Ebay in the early days. I regret letting it lapse, but work and school got to be too much for me to keep up with it, and the profit margins decreased as more competition developed. I am considered an expert in Richard Francis Burton and in Haitiana (material related to Haiti) and I still collect in those areas.

I have done weed only, and it had no effect whatsoever on me. In high school I pretended it did to be cool, but it just made me a bit sleepy. I love beer and wine, but drink sparingly these days. I play poker well enough to draw in some extra income, but I will never be a great player. I am much better live and play regularly in an underground card room.

My wife and I are huge Red Sox fans and watch almost every game and go to quite a few every year. I am always reading a book, and have a pretty decent library. I am also a movie fan and have seen most of the 'important' movies, and I eventually see most of the worthwhile movies that come out.

I am really glad this forum got started because I was getting really bored with playing poker and needed a good long break. As an aside, this is easily the most diverse forum on this site, both in ages and gender. Kind of cool.
