Oh, and I made it to my June goal last night, so thats cool.



We'll see if I can't bump it up to 45K or so by the end of the month. And then blow it all on hookers and blow, of course.

Triumph - I've played over 100k hands at 3/6NL.....

DJ - Good job. Kinda worries me though, it seems like $20k+ months are pretty normal for bigtime 3/6NL regulars - so where the [censored] is all the money coming from?

I predict 3/6NL dies in July - I know of two solid players who have not been playing much lately but plan to be putting in insane hours in July - you heard it here first.

At this point I've lost 7k but I seem to have regained control so I am going to keep playing and see if I can regain 1k oe 2.

-8k. Weird thing is I just feel frustrated. Don't feel sick to my stomach or anything. Just generally pissed at my own lack of self control and pissed with the way I handled the whole night.

I blew an entire month's work in one night. I feel like a complete idiot. I really can't play anymore tonight. So I guess I will get up tomorrow and start grinding again. I've got way more than enough bankroll I just really need some help with my emotional control.

I'm not really sure how I am going to work on it, but we'll see.

I've done this (though not as drastically). It happens. It will probably happen 2 or 3 times more before you really learn to put a stop on it while it's in progress (well if you're stubborn like me). It's so hard to ignore you're inner voice saying:
"OK, you were playing like a dick, you deserved to lose that money. Now just play goot and you'll win it back"
Only, you're not thinking clearly or playing that good still.

Give it another day, or play way less tables for the whole amount of time, marveling at how easy it is playing so few tables, how good your reads are, and what a great player you are. THEN go back to grinding.

Give the above a shot. Also, as soon as I start thinking "That guy just beat me and he sucks. I'll just outplay him and get my money back," I know now that I'm asking to outplay myself and tumble further in the tilt/spew spiral of death.

Upon further consideration I am going to take the day off tomorrow. Going to my nephew's 2nd birthday party. Hopefully something will help. Clear my mind and ger refocused.

From now on I think I am going to institute a 7 buyin stop-loss limit~2500-4000 depending on my mix of games I guess.

I am hoping losing such a large figure in one night will be something that I will eventually be able to look back upon and realize that it was a fortunate event and will have helped me to control myself.

I did this just a week and a half ago except it was only 2k in a day (but proportionally equal for me). I also tried to play after -1k and then -1.5k, much like you did, to try to win some back since I felt I was still playing well. It was by far the most I've ever lost in one day and the strange thing is, I felt the exact same way. I was very frustrated but that's about it.

also come on - youre at 400 nl and 600 nl and 8k is an entire months work?? GRIND MORE BABY
