No, the goal of BW is of course to make money. The way we choose to do so however, is by providing the best information we can to the players. [/ QUOTE ] Fair enough. First off, thanks for responding thoughtfully. I'm glad to know that I was a little (maybe a lot!) off base about how a bonus because "featured." I had just assumed they paid you to do that. Now, seems clear to me that there still is a financial incentive for you to list those bonuses (the affiliate payments they may generate if used), but the fact that you're being systematic about trying to benefit the players in the best way possible is a good thing. Really, at the end of the day, transparency is what's key. If folks who use BW know the whole story, they'll be able to make the best use of the info you provide, and have some perspective on why some offers are pushed harder or more visibly than others. A lack of transparency, however, is something that has historically inhibited efficient markets from truly developing on the affiliate front, and the entrenched operators have (as I understand it) gone to great lengths to keep things non-transparent. |

I remember when :-
I lost 250BB on my first weekend of play at the $0.50/$1.00 tables on Party and deciding that my next $50 would be my last and thankfully it was. I bought the Jones book and it saved my poker career. Only sitting at the seats at the bottom of the table because anywhere else was confusing. PP = Paradise poker on these forums I'd have to wait 15-20 mins for a $10+1 STT to start on Party, of course they just had limit in those days and I was playing UK daytime hours. Party's 3-4 $3/$6 tables occasionally had 2-3 multi-tablers playing 2-3 tables each. Poker clients were typically 640x480 Party's hideous patterned carpet. "Loose" was the opposite to tight and "lose" was the opposite to win, they seem to be interchangable these days. Poker on TV in the UK totalled about 30 hours a year, there's probably 50+ hours a day now. When poker wasn't cool. When poker was cool. When poker was sooo last year. |

I remember through every stage of my poker career thinking I was great at poker, followed by me looking back at myself from 6 months earlier and thinking what a moron I was. |

I remember playing my first Hold Em game at Canterbury because the jackpot was $50k. I didn't know how to play. I adopted my own strategy of playing any pair, any two suited cards, and any two cards that added up to 15 (aces worth 11 and face cards worth 10). Position? No such thing! Raising? Hell no, not me!
