[ QUOTE ] I've been running at 28/17 for the last two weeks, so I don't think it's fair to accuse me of being nitty . . . [/ QUOTE ] Jesus Christ you've changed A LOT. Are you still following the starting hands/guides I sent? Dayum, I'm keeping it to myself from now on. Did I send stuff about flop play too? I recommend you go back to 12/5 or whatever before I get back to your level. You're just on a heater, I swear. [/ QUOTE ] I'd love to hear some discussion on how you guys go about opening up your game. I play such a nitty 12/5 game now at NL25 and it works so I just keep doing it. I doubt this same gameplan is going to serve me as well as I move up the limits (going to NL50 shortly). |

While 12/5 might not make the most money you cant definitely be a winning player up to 1/2 playing that style. Ajven and treysfull play about 12/5 and are winners.

Playing 14/5 at Stars 1/2 is profitable and totally fine because people are so passive. Limp-calling all PPs from EP isn't a gigantic leak down there because people always pay off and are rarely abusing your EP limps.
It didn't work at 2/4 for me and I had to seriously change my game. 1/2 to 2/4 was the hardest jump I've made, but once I made it the game was a piece of cake. |

[/ QUOTE ]Heh, I am on a heater, no question, but I sort of deserve it- see earlier in this thread where I vowed to quit poker. The thing is that all those hands are ones I would have played at my old style: set over set, two sets losing to straights, KK cracked twice and AA cracked twice. Still, after that huge downswing I wondered if I was only remember thing "big hands" and there were maybe some other leaks in my game- because of that I've only been single tabling and really focusing. And yes, I HAVE been on a heater (though I did have QQ cracked this weekend when a guy called off his stack with 53 after pairing his 5 and rivered a 5 on me), but I do think I've been playing well. I should also mention that "two weeks" of single tabling = 1500 hands since I don't play just a whole lot. So LOL sample size! As for your starting hands/guides, I'm not really following much of anything anymore. At the 50NL there is just so much exploitable play that it is super easy to pick spots of you are paying attention. Since most of the strong players are not paying close enough attention (they are busy griding out multiple tables with premium hands), it's easy to pick up that dead money. |
