But who am I to question?

[/ QUOTE ]Don't I need to re-raise a blind steal with reasonable holdings?

[/ QUOTE ]

not here. Another huge stack raised you and you can't really hurt him, but he can take you out. The one person he is afraid of (the biggest stack) folded. you need to fold here w/o a strong hand. The small stack has 5xbb left... and you need a very strong hand (99+, AK, AQs+) to come over the top

Just more awareness of stack sizes and FE on the bubble would improve your game lots wickss, GL.

I think I need to change something on my heads up play. With equal stacks and blinds at t600, I try to play poker and limp too much from the button. I often get raised. Should I limp/reraise with stronger holdings, shove marginal holdings and fold bad cards?

Is trying to see a flop better with blinds at t400?

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure what HU hand in this thread you're referring to. I just reviewed a HH of your's though and, in general, I agree with your assessment of your play. Once the blinds hit 600, you should only be limping to trap with premium hands if you think you can get away with it.

you really should get an ICM program. It is all about blinds, stack sizes, position, # of players left, the action in front of you, the player who took a certain action (i.e. a raise from a big stack does not represent the same strength as a raise from a small stack)...

you have to becareful about the advice you receive here. You need to understand why people are advocating an action (which most people don't fully explain)... this understanding comes with experience and studying ICM

push every single marginal holding (53s, T7o,Q4o etc)

fold crap unless are tight

you can trp with JJ type hands but a read helps, minraising is fine, whatever.

main thing is the marginal holdings though. once blinds are 300/600 in a 9 handed game the effective stack is just over 10bb. this means you should be pushing all in with any two suited cards for example.

[/ QUOTE ]QFT - my own recommendations included. I've received advice from very successful players that haven't worked for a variety of reasons including variations between buyin levels and changes within the game over time.

First, don't post the results.

Second, I just make it 450 here. CBet the flop. When you are called by AJ+ you get them to fold only seeing 3 of 5 cards. You're rarely getting called by a hand you are way ahead of here. If for some reason you have to ditch, 1800 is still plenty of stack at this blind level.

PS: Pushing for 15BB usually looks like 88 or less to me.
