Like I've stated before, I was never impressed with this guy and have no idea why theo would pay so much to get him.
I guess theo just has bad luck when it comes to SS. Under .500 for the month of June, hope that's not a trend.

I think it was a very very dumb play on his part. It was a one run game, almost any single he will score on, and if he got caught they were out of the inning. But, maybe he was 'trying too hard' to make something happen since he has been slumping real bad and wants to contribute in someway? Of course the 'no slide' doesn't really show 'trying to make something happen'. (Maybe he was upset that Francona had him pinch run in a game where they were playing a bad team with a bad pitcher? But I doubt that.)
Unless he is hurt in someway, I don't see him continuing to play this poor.I don't see any options to trade him either, because BOS will have to pay a lot of the salary and won't get very much in return.BOS has Cora (who isn't that great) as a back up. Can Pedroia play SS? Could we get Loretta from Houston and Cora backs them up? There aren't tons of options for SS right now. Obviously, if I thought Lugo would continue to play this poor, I would have Cora play SS if I was Francona. craig
