reyes gets shelled in the 1st. i'd still like to see him in the bullpen "if" the cardinals make the playoffs.
houston is down to 3 outs trailing by 2, and even if they make it up atlanta gets the bottom of the 9th. do managers ever do fun stuff like whitey herzog did in the 80s by having jose oquendo play every position once certain games were pointless? |

Congrats to St. Louis on squeaking into the playoffs. You guys really need to turn it around quick though if you're gonna avoid a first round drubbing. I think most Cards fans would agree this team is playing awful at the moment.

[/ QUOTE ] And congrats to the Astros for playing well enough in the last two weeks of the season to almost squeak into the playoffs. And eff the haters. I don't really care if the Cards get swept in the first round. We made it to the playoffs and you didn't. Maybe the Astros can think about showing up before September next year. |

If the season were a week longer or the Astros had any more games with the Cardinals, it's pretty safe to say the Astros would have overtaken them.
I don't think there's any question that at this point in time, the Astros are a better team than the Cardinals. So the Astros weren't able to overcome their summer swoon, you guys are playing horrible baseball. You backed into the playoffs and are gonna get your asses smoked. Be very proud of that I guess. The whole point is to be playing your best baseball when it counts, at the end of the season and in the playoffs. You guys are playing your worst. |

[/ QUOTE ] And if the season were two months longer, the Astros would go right back to ten games back or more. But its not, so who cares? I'm pretty happy that we can forget all about the Astros for another year, and look forward to not hearing another word about them or their [censored] [censored] team. About time to change your location, btw. Maybe, "Watching the playoffs from the couch." |

Houston did not get in. St. Louis did. End of discussion. Good luck to all the teams in this year's playoffs. GO STROS! |

Why is when the Astros struggle for months at a time it's just a "summer swoon", but when the Cards struggle for a couple weeks it's because they are an inferior team? |
