honestly i dont think ive ever been on a 40 buyin downswing. wtf you people are crazy.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agree. Kinda wondering if we're being leveled here? lol

I just checked my graph, I've had one 20 buy-in downswing so far this year in a little over 200k hands. A few more between 10 and 20. However I certainly moved down in probably every one of these instances. I also tend to tilt pretty hard imo, this probably accounts for almost all of the >10bi downswings I've had. Almost all these hands are at the pretty tough games on FTP 6max (some HU too, which is far more swingy).

I guess I wouldn't put 30 out of the ballpark, but regularly hitting 30 bi downswings or any 40 bi downswings would seriously cause me to question my edge.

[/ QUOTE ]

ya. I remember when I had like a 28 buyin downswing back in july or something. I played like crap, and thought it would never happen again after I started playing good in early october. I guess it really didn't but I just had a 20 buyin downswing a month ago and if I hadn't tightened up a lot(I still played good, maybe 4-5 buyins tilt/bad play tops) it could've gotten a lot worse. The variance in poker can get really really sick if you play LAGish(pre+postflop) vs decent to good regulars every day

StopLose, who's probably the biggest all time winner on Party 5/10, says he's had two 50 buyin downswings lifetime. He is a lagtarded tiltmonkey though.

You guys are nuts if you think 30+buyins are normal parts of mid stakes games, even under todays conditions.

[/ QUOTE ]
its not normal, its rare, probably a quartery to yearly thing, if it was normal it wouldn't be frustrating.

[/ QUOTE ]

so do 3 almost consecutive 15 buyin downswings count as a 45 buyin downswing?
