I think Allen's play was fine. Obviously he could have gotten more out of it, but that's the "results" clouding the analysis.

Face it, from about 100 players on wards Cunningham survived near the bottom of the chip counts. Understanding that he was under no pressure from the blinds to go crazy yet he just played "poker" and built himself up nicely.

he is now the only other serious force besides Gold (at this point).

He figures he would much rather play 3-5 medium sized pots with GOld than 1 super huge large one.

Obviously he's willing to play a super huge large one with the nuts, but he didn't have the nuts there and that was him sticking to his "build my stack, wait for good spots" strategy.

Assuming the last card was a 5, I am surprised Binger would just check/call with a boat. The only hand he loses to is 55.

Well they fixed the hand and there was 3 7's on board, and each player had a 5. Makes more sense.

From Gutshot:

You can almost see him laughing inside everytime he goes to offer his sympathies to those players he knocks out...

...Melissa Hayden, friend of Allen Cunningham, also overheard the conversation and looked like she might throw up.

...it seems as though every other person in there (including the camera guys) are hoping to witness his demise.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's some biased reporting there.

[/ QUOTE ]
Jeez that report is almost Anti-Semetic.

[/ QUOTE ]

How do you figure that?

[/ QUOTE ]
The reporter might as well said they saw horns on his head while laughing at his victims demise. Why would they mention AC's friend wanting to throw up, that wasn't neccessary.

[/ QUOTE ]

Someones reading JUST a little too into this. U need to relax. Do u honestly think Gutshots point was to bash the guy b/c hes Jewish? really brother come on.

OK you are Cunningham and bet $1 Million with your AK on the turn. Gold C-Raises you for $4Mil and you have $12Mil in your stack. This is NOT where he wants to be.

[/ QUOTE ]

You don't make a decision in poker simply to keep yourself out of making a difficult decision later - especially not if you're a good player.

[ QUOTE ]
Plus if hes ahead Gold only has at most 2 outs here and usually none so he isn't likely to call a bet.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh? Gold doesn't know AC's hand. Gold could easily call a bet with a middle pair, a weaker ace, or a weaker flush draw.

Didn't you realize that Gutshot is run by a bunch of Nazis? LOL

Seriously though, nobody in their right mind could interpret that report as being anti-semetic. That's just ridiculous.

If a black guy was acting like that and they reported on it, would that mean they were anti-black? What if it were a Catholic guy or a Methodist guy or a French guy or a red-headed guy?

According to CP one player (Leif Force) is super shortstacked with an M of like 1.5, look for us to be to the final 10 (and thus the final full table) soon.

They'll keep going till they hit 9 though.

Cunningham takes down 3m from gold with a higher flush.

[/ QUOTE ]

That was a missed opportunity for Cunningham. He should have gotten a lot more with flush over flush.

Jamie Gold completes from the small blind and Allen Cunningham raises to $300,000 from the big blind. Gold makes the call and the flop comes down 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Gold bets $300,000 and Cunningham calls. The turn is the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and both players check. The river is a 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and Gold bets $1,000,000. Cunningham raises to $2,000,000 and after several minutes Gold makes the call. Gold shows 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] but Cunningham shows A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for the nut flush. Cunningham collects the large pot and has vaulted to $16,200,000 and Gold is at $28,000,000.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am sure he would have bet more if he knew Gold had a flush. He probably wasn't sure Gold had much of anything and he had to be a little bit concerned about a boat.
