[ QUOTE ] Has anyone noticed the absolutely shocking advice being dished out in strat posts all over uNL? Guys with 7 posts posting 1 line answers, inevitably along the lines of: "I c/r the flop". Bang. End of post. Bloody useless depressing crap. Has it always been like this and I just didn't notice? [/ QUOTE ] It's becoming more and more prevalent and I blame the "regulars" who post the exact same thing. Personally, I try to give reasons/thinking behind my posts as, last I checked, this is the place to learn/teach/help each other out... FAR TOO MANY REGULARS HAVE FORGOTTEN THIS AND LET EGO GET IN THE WAY!!! Maybe someone should point out that this is the uNL forum. Ie. you don't have [censored] to brag about the status of your "game". Make it outta here, then, fine. Until then, you're nothing special and please help teach others. Hell, you might learn something yourselves, superstars. [/ QUOTE ] Ye, but then there seems to be an infestation of "How do you like my flop set laydown?" "I folded KK preflop, am I a hero or a moron?" "How do you like my river all in bluff against this 80/10/1 guy?" Which I find extremely amusing and usually just reply with "foldem face up" or some other stupid [censored]. I mean if someone is stupid/arrogant enough not to read FAQ and stickies, why should anyone help him? |

It's hands where ppl are honestly looking for input and someone (usually a reg) comes in with, "Lead flop, c/r all in turn". Great, peachy...hell, WONDERFUL! But W-H-Y?!?! And you know the difference of what Chomp and myself are talking about. |

Chomp
I think as long as they decrease flop-> river and are ~2 meaning more betting/folding than calling then all is o.k. My flop aggr is a tad lower than most but I cbet a little less than most here - most of this is from CS/loose villans that I haven't still quite worked out how the best ways play the flop vs. with overcards/ small PPs - I basically do everything/all sorts @ the mo. River aggr should also be less due to value check-calls vs missed draws/ bluff catchers IMHO too. |

What really annoys me though is threads that are so obvious or dumb that you really don't need more than one line to answer them - "I 3bet 72o pre and I don't know what to do on the turn" - so you say "fold preflop" then they say "yeah I KNOW preflop isn't standard but now that we are here WHAT DO I DO ON THE TURN geez"... I find its hardly worth the time to go into detail But I do try my best =) |

Anyone else have a horrible start to the month? I'm down 21 buyins at NL50 after the first 5 days of July. I still have another 30 buyins for NL50, but I don't know if I should keep playing at that level or move down or what. I beat NL25 for ~4.3ptbb/100 over 50k hands and I was beating NL50 for ~2.4ptbb/100 over 50k hands, so I feel like moving down is moving backwards. I review hands with a friend that plays med-high stakes and, for the most part, I'm not playing bad (I run about 18/14/2.6). I just keep getting sucked out on and I can't make money with my big hands. My friend said that he didn't even think it was possible to run this bad. I don't even remember what it feels like to win anymore. Anyone have any advice? Move down? Take a break? Move up to where they respect my raises? [/ QUOTE ] Let's just say that you're running almost as bad as I am lately... I also can't seem to have a winning day anymore and I swear to god I must of had KK like 8 times in the past week up against AA and never been able to get lucky.. I even had a hand yesterday or 2 days ago in which I 4 bet a guy preflop and he CALLS with KK against my AA, sure enough flop is K high and I'm sitting there thinking, I'm shoving anything now at this point, and sure enough the flop is K high and he has KK... wtf |
