I went out in ~55th. It was a sick field. I started day 2 w 15k. Little less than averaga. I went on nice rush and got up to 50k and then lost every hand i played at 500/1500 level(AJ, AJ, AK, 1010, K10s, etc) Did real well in 60/120 and 50/100..going back next week for $3k event.

HOWMANY,
Check the turn in your AT hand. Check the river with your set of 3s. Jigsaws, I think you should C-bet more in those 3 bet pots just because you should want more money in most times. Setting your standard that low means you will get paid off less when you are deep. PJ: re: showing good hands for no reason - I do this a lot because I think it helps tilt my running bad opponents and makes them sub-consciously believe I have hands every time. You want that "always runs good" image. -DeathDonkey |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, that's the caveat I made: if your range is such that you're usually going to be ahead when your 3bet is called, you obviously want to be getting more money in the pot. However, the way Stars 200NL is currently, my 3betting range is a lot wider than my opponents' calling range. That is, when my 3bet is called, I'll have a worse hand on average than my opponent. So I usually do not want more money to go in. When I'm up against a fish that calls my reraises with a wide range, and will call a flop bet with any pair, my reraising range will be a lot tighter (TT+,AK usually). Since a fish has no regard for bet sizing, I'd just start potting it for value if I do have a hand. |

Jigsaws: cool, I missed that part of your earlier post(s).
Hand from 100/200 last night in Vegas, I raise A2o on button, 2+2 TAG type 3 bets SB and has played a lot with me, knows who I am here, etc. Flop is 346 he bets I call. Turn 2 he bets I call. River 9, he checks, I tank briefly and value bet and get called and MHIG. Maybe standard online but turned some heads in a live game. -DeathDonkey |

donkey, real question isnt whether to bet the 2, its whether to call if he c/r as bluff catcher - did you consider checking behind even though its a clear ev bet, just so you dont broadcast you can read hands... or do you prefer ppl consider you a lagtard in live games

After reading it, not only is it standard, but I knew how the hand would play out before I finished his post. nh DD. In fact, you can just look at that hand and *tell* that DD has been brushing up on his Stox. |

Sounds like i need to read that book. The last book i read was HE:FAP and that book was somewhat helpful, but maybe i can learn a few things from reading Stox's book. I think the way i play is alot more "feel" and not as much percentages, but still a book i need to pick up.

And fwiw DD, from all I've heard about you and such, i expected you to raise that turn and value bet the river. Because 77+ is an easy 3-bet for him on the turn. I'm disappointed. |
