I agree almost 100%. Wear a long sleeve button down with the sleeves rolled up, it looks a million times better.

YESS! This is so hot. Great advice.

Aren't you in socal? My take on it was that people that wear that a bunch of people that wear that stuff are surfers/outdoorsy types.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude, is this your attempt at leveling me or something? Fluffpop is in SoCal, I am in Atlanta. I really may as well stop posting.

golf shirts and polos sounds like the country club look that the people i hated in college wore. (i think i went to college in your region).

Econophile,

You're probably right. For the record, I also think that short-sleeved trendy t-shirts with jeans look good.... more of the "SoCal" look. However, I despise the culture that will pay $70 for a paper thin t shirt at Abercrombie.

i don't wear short sleeve shirts that are button down - i have a bunch of them, but every time i put them on i think they look dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]

My friends and I consistently make fun of guys who wear button down short-sleeved shirts. Particularly if they are plaid.

[/ QUOTE ]

so what do you think guys should wear instead?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that if you're looking for something short-sleeved, you need to go with a polo- or golf-shirt. If the occasion calls for something more dressy, then you've got to go with a long-sleeved button down.

This may be a regional thing; as I said, though, guys who wear short-sleeved button downs are major dweebs around here. <shrug>

[/ QUOTE ]

prob. gonna come off sounding like a tool here but in the book magic bullets (PUA stuff) they warned to never wear golf shirts and polos when out. Everyone does it, makes you seem plain and boring. While ffk may make fun of those guys who wear peacocky stuff, she also notices them and they stand out, rather than the 12 guys sitting around in polos.

Yeah, and have you seen what PUA guys wear out? Like actually seen a Youtube video or something? Anyone that has to rely on gimmicks and more than just their personality to get girls to remember them is a bit pathetic imo, and only the very best PUAs can overcome all the [censored] that they get for looking absolutely ridiculous.

Besides all that, there are ways to wear polos, etc. that don't make you look like everyone else. Wear a long-sleeved shirt underneath one, different type of pants/shoes, or anything. You don't have to come off the same as everyone else just because you may be wearing the same style shirt.

I knew that was gonna happen... TBH it is a bit ridiculous and has been done, so now PUAs advise just wearing one flashy thing. But the general point I was tying to make wasnt to peacock, it was to always wear thing a bit nicer than most people, which will make you stand out in a good way. For me on most days it means wearing a nice short sleeve shirt (plaid, wtf?) or just anything that wont make me blend into a sea of college guys.

also wanted to add that I tried semi-peacocking last weekened in the form of a cool hat and it worked wonders. Just a small gimmick, the rest is up to you and your personality.

Wearing things a bit nicer than others does make sense, but I didn't take that away at all from what you originally wrote. Oh well.

FFK, lol not trying to level you. Just didn't know. Sorry I'm not aware of the locations of the various 2p2 hotties. Being in Atlanta definitely explains your preference. I think if you pick up a magazine like Outside you'll see a bunch of surfer/outdoorsy dudes wearing stuff like plaid short sleeve button downs and imho they look pretty good in it. Now that I come to think of it the companies that make those shirts are those kinds of companies - patagonia, quicksilver, volcom etc. I do agree that longsleeve is better.
