I think the thing is is that it is very possible, just that if you're good enough to do it you wouldn't be wasting your time doing it.
Unless you are shaundeeb. |

Right - and is Deeb just a freak & it's not particularly achievable for your amateur donk like myself?
And Thay3r, you're saying if you're able to be *that* profitable at the $10-$50 level, there's no reason you wouldn't be equally or more profitable at the $100+ level, correct? |

Found the following from Paul Phillips :
http://www.pokerlizard.com/interviews/phillips.html PokerLizard: What advice would you give to any aspiring pros? Any pitfalls to avoid? Paul: My advice to aspiring pros is to change aspirations. Poker seems much more glamorous than it actually is, and for every player who is living the dream, there are dozens who aren't. If you're smart enough to succeed at this game, you're smart enough to succeed in the real world, with much greater satisfaction. If you don't want to work for “the man”, then start your own company and put your efforts into that. I think poker is a great hobby but a very poor choice of profession. I'm concerned that the current poker craze is going to leave us with legions who eventually discover that poker isn't all it's cracked up to be, but who have also rendered themselves largely unemployable. |

I agree with Phillips, a lot of aspiring pros should really consider their choices before going for poker. Don't know how that's related to this thread though.

people vastly underestimate how much more profit they would have if they just added 5 20/180s during their sessions mostly at the beg when they don't have many tables going/at important levels.

[/ QUOTE ] yah but part of the point is you can do what I suggest with a 1500 roll and have way less variance, I love 180s cuz I know if I ever did anything really stupid it would be 2 months before I had a 50k roll again. |
