[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Upon reading this thread, and thinking about the many, many conversations we've had about this topic. I can give you no greater advice than "GROW THE [censored] UP". [/ QUOTE ] Your ideas of success are, by and large, my ideas of failure. You seem to have a very difficult time dealing with that notion objectively. [/ QUOTE ] My point is that once you actually mature, you won't think stupid crap like that anymore. I fully accept that that's how you feel right now. I'm just saying that how you feel is dumb, and hopefully something you'll grow out of, like bed wetting. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe you'll wake up in 30 years, shriek Oh God, what have I done? and they'll find you in a heap. |

You should be able to get a 10-15$/hr job no problem.. Metro bus driver, security guard, etc.. I don't understand how you can be making 6.65 unless you want to be making that little. [/ QUOTE ] They ain't a lotta security guards geting 15 an hour or even 10. And metro bus jobs aren't easy to get. |

Anacardo, I really do feel for you. I have been in the same exact situation for the past year. I graduated last summer and moved out west. I was looking for work out here while playing poker. I subsequently went busto online and live, and since then have been trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to do. I also hate the 9-5 crap, but have recently taken a job for the short term.
This is what i suggest to you. Find a job for the short term. Even though you may feel like it is below you (although you shouldn't) it will at least be some income to pay your debts. Just don't get stuck in the position for the long term (which I doubt you will have a problem with) But do realize that any job at all is better than nothing when you are broke and in debt. It took me a couple of months to realize this, and once I did, I realized how pathetic I was to turn down jobs just because my ego got in the way. |

Have you even considered becoming a dealer? It's a fairly easy job, you choose your own hours for the most part and the money is decent.
It's not like most other jobs where you deal with people. You don't have to put on a Miss ray of sunshine facade, as long as you aren't totally rude to people, are semi-competent and show up for work it's almost impossible to get fired. |

Also I hear substitute teaching is also pretty easy but not sure what the requirements are as far as certifications and stuff go. Prolly depends a lot on the area your in too with regards to supply/demand.

Does cardo smoke weed? Should he? No and Jesus H. Christ no. Can you imagine the depth of thoughts if this were to happen? Bork I don't understand how you can be making 6.65 unless you want to be making that little. Poor ass East Texas. People telling Cardo to move back in with parents and find a $10-$15/hr job need to realize that these two are basically mutually exclusive. I'm sure that played some part in moving to a city. skylos, Also I hear substitute teaching is also pretty easy but not sure what the requirements are as far as certifications and stuff go. Prolly depends a lot on the area your in too with regards to supply/demand. I don't know the steps to becoming a sub, but it can't be that hard judging by the people I know who have done it around here. Becoming a real teacher isn't that hard either if you have a degree and can pass some tests. |

Depends where you are. You need a masters now in California for your typical teaching job. About a two-year time frame.
