you know, i was a big jordin supporter when she wasn't getting the props and was somewhat neglected.... but now i think she's getting over-hyped by the judges.

Did anyone notice that the guy in the audience who looked like he wanted to jump on Ryan was Sanjaya's father? Must run in the family.

I would switch Jordin and Melinda. I would also switch Gina and Lakisha. Blake was okay until he did that little scat to end it. I don't like Gina at all but for some reason I really enjoyed her tonight. I think I might be in the minority tonight. I think she goes home tomorrow. Phil was bad but for some reason he is getting votes again. Haley, meh, she always seems to do a little better than DI represents so she might sneak by this week.

Melinda is being graded on a different scale and she's still killing. She may be the best singer qua singer that AI has ever had.

I agree that this is the best time for an idea on the outcome. This week though the bottom 4 are wayyyyyy closer than what I have seen the past 4 weeks.


EDIT: With West Coast results coming in 4 people are within .2 of each other. DI is worthless for tonight.

1. Melinda - she's proved, week after week, that she is simply in a different league, a vastly different league, from anyone else in this competition. Simply magnificent vocals, and a fun performance on stage.

2. LaKisha - strong performance, particularly after the introduction. She should've listened to Tony Bennett, though.

3. Blake - not a great vocalist, but he's a good musician and he sold the piece well. He was good entertainment tonight, much as usual.

4. Chris - see above, but he's not the musician that Blake is and didn't sell the piece quite as well.

5. Jordin - she was very good in spots, but has breathing issues which impact her phrasing. Also, her annunciation was off on the last, long, note.

6. Gina - far from great, but really not bad at all. She did well on a theme that might not suit her, and should be around for several more weeks.

7. Haley - I think she's better than the judges' comments indicate. Yeah, not a stellar performance but decent, I thought. Just not in a league with the stronger singers.

8. Phil - Now *this* was boring. No style at all, no interest.

9. Sanjaya - I defended his singing last week (thought he was solidly in the middle), but not this week. Weak, weak performance.
