I can't believe this troll thread is still going.

Simple question for the OP to continue trolling on.

How does the coin "remember" that is landed heads 19 times in a row?

What if we after the 19 flips we swap the coin out? Does that ruin your "system" because now it's a different coin? Or does the new coin somehow also "know" the old coin flipped heads 19 in a row?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not sure what you mean by memory, I'm really trying here. I don't know if swapping the coin would make a difference or not, thats why I don't switch roulette tables once I've found one I can beat.

Extending this system somewhat, if you were really patient, couldn't you make a bundle betting on green (0 or 00) if the wheel hadn't come up green in say, over 200 spins? Surely if it hadn't come up green in 1000 spins, it would be "due" to hit green very soon? Wouldn't that work for any number that hasn't come up in a long time, or does it only work for red/black? Not that I believe this myself, mind you...

Yeah, but I fully understand variance (I just got up to that part in Miller's book), and while in the long run you could gain a postiive expecation by doing this, betting the colors is lower variance.
