Yes, I would like a woman who is more like a pet than like an equal.

Guys - I'm sure there are many in the States who want exactly what Degen wants, but would never say it for fear of backlash from their peer group.

I don't really think there are absolute optimals with regard to the healthiest relatinoship dynamic - whatever works for people, I say. Very culture dependent also.

agreed. Hell it wasnt but 50 years ago and thats what every male in america wanted.

Personaly, id never want a subserviant woman, cuz it would be just like having a dog (which is prolly why degen said cheating is so common over there, why stay faithful to someone who isnt ure equal). I own a dog, I love her to death and its nice, but she doesnt challenge me, or make me a better person, and thats what I want out of someone im gunna spend my life with. But if someone wants a pet for a wife and they can find it, more power to them.

I will take it a step further and say that many American women may even want to treat their man like this, or at least move in that direction, but do not for fear of retaliation from their peer group.

[/ QUOTE ]

you are VERY wrong on that one.

I know this is to be a fact.

Now the pet example was not mine and I just played along.

What I mean is just that a woman who doesn't want a career, has a goal in life to make a family and make her husband happy, takes pride in cooking his meals and keeping a tidy home etc

[/ QUOTE ]

Degen, I didn't have a problem (maybe not the right word but we'll use it for now) with your initial post. You want a woman who is selfless, giving, supporting, loving and accepting of you. Sure we all want that. You don't want a woman to question you in public. Well, we all don't want to cause drama in front of others, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and want her to speak to you about her feelings maybe at a more suitable time. You want a woman perhaps who's focus is on family and home instead of career. That's fine, a person can place their satisfaction and self-worth in raising their family rather than building a career, one isn't more noble than the other.

However when you said you didn't want an equal, I object to that. You don't want to equally support, love, desire and nuture your partner the way you want her to do for you. Because of that, I find you immature and emotionally inept.
