[ QUOTE ] what? i think it's safe to assume that fgators when he calls will not get raised behind despite not closing the action, limper, min raiser, caller, chances are if he calls 3, he's calling into 21, so 7-1 (dont know why i said 8, im dumb). [/ QUOTE ] yeah, and the minraiser is a shortstack, and he's exactly in the middle of the action so he can't CR or bet properly, and he's OOP in general of course, and odds are he doesn't play 92s with positive expectation postflop either I mean, cmon, I would never make a 'omg you called with 92s?' post in a thread you made and I assume you'd never do the same when I call 75o (yes I have, it's possible I swear) but extending the same courtesy to 1/2 NL players posting in BBV about how people can't fold sets is bad shania [/ QUOTE ] yeah ur right, im just saying in a vacuum calling there with 92s isn't a huge disaster, but I think in general it's bad unless u got some real sick reads on the players in the hand. |

[ QUOTE ]
I called putting the guy on the set. I wanted to push a safe turn card. I didn't feel like playing a high variance play and allowing the A of hearts to call off $400, which happens all the time and lose to that. So I called and pushed a safe turn card. The set is not folding the flop if its not folding the turn. I got screwed. [/ QUOTE ] I liked the way you play it posstflop actually. Preflop i would fold though. It's true you are getting in cheap, but your hand is horrible. With this many players it's good to have A3s or K2s, not 92s, cause you might already be against a higher flush. I bet you wouldn't post this hand if someone had Ah5h. The set guy made a pretty bad call, i agree. |

On the flop jam it when it gets back to you. also his call isn't so bad, try to see things objectively. edit: i misread and thought you were bb, ie 12-1, actually you were sb so 8-1. Eh it's bad but not disastrous. btw fgators you have huge holes in your game which you seem to completely ignore when you convince yourself that you are somehow cursed by unluckiness. [/ QUOTE ] I fold all the time to raises when I am out of position and playing suited connectors. I like to see flops against weak villains in position. In this case I will stand by my decision. I called $3 for the perfect scenario. $3 doesn't mean all that much to me. It could have meant a $600 pot if the river is a 5,J,etc. The fact of the matter is minus the preflop call where I was certain I had to call $3 into $16 I got a guy to get all his chips in the pot well behind. As soon as he raised me on the flop I said the guy either has middle set or bottom set and I'm going to check/fold the turn if the board is paired or shove if its safe. I did just that. As he was deciding in the chat box I almost typed in set no good, I have flush, so that he wouldn't call and suck out on me. But I went against that because why should I not want this guy to call when he has 10 outs? |
