Scary movies are the best. But not gorie movies. I'm 2 for 2 with Silence of the Lambs.

When The Lion King came out, I took three girls in a row to it and my [censored] self -- dumb as a fox -- got associated with its awesomeness to girls. It was like putting the key in the lock, if you catch my meaning. Best girl month of my life.
A note in the same direction -- a video store clerk saw me talking over flicks to see with another guy friend who also was a real animation buff and an artist friend, and I suggested Bambi. A few seconds later I noticed her giving me a big smile. She was incredibly sexy. I wasn't sure what prompted the big gorgeous smile, and smiled back, barely checking my stride in my surprise as I walked behind another tall aisle that obscured her. Then I heard her say something like, "Wow, I wish I knew a guy who actually wanted to watch Bambi!" What happened next? Nothing. I was in one of my zero-confidence stages I had a lot of when I was super young and inexperienced. Got-damn, I sucked! But just a word out that women sometimes really go for that emotionally expressive stuff and a guy who isn't too weirded out, dismissive, homophobic, whatever, to give it a shot. Only a guy with as little game as I had at my worst could have blown the looks and vibes I got from that very, very sexy girl after she found I wanted to see Bambi. Go figure. So let the women be girls sometimes, finding the boy in the man! Everyone likes to be reminded of magic. |
