Just like they did in 1998?

LOL @ you trying to compare this french team to the one in 98 (here's a hint 8 years later the starting 11 is almost exactly the same).

the yellow on puyol was the worst call ive seen since the complete phantom dive that got arsenal the free kick that setup their goal in the champions league final. that one actually broke the straw of me holding back on referees. that guy should be fired, that call was sooooooooooooooo much worse than the italian pk yesterday. oh, push the guy on the other team over? heres a free kick, and as a bonus, we;ll give the guy you pushed over a yellow. honestly i was so sickened i got up and left the resturant i was in when they awarded the free kick, i heard everyone yelling as i walked away, but it was inevitable, the most disgusting decision of the WC so far decides this one. that was [censored] ridiculous....

Another thing about this upcoming quarterfinal: France is going to be the first team in this tournament that will not be the first bit intimidated by the Brazilians.

Last time they met in a big match, it was France lifting the solid gold trophy after completely dominating Brazil. And I don't want to hear about Ronaldo being unfit. France would've won anyway. The people who think Ronaldo would've made a difference in that game remind me of a comment Sammy Baugh made after the 1940 NFL Championship game, which the Redskins lost to the Bears 73-0. On the first drive, a sure TD pass by Baugh was dropped in the endzone by a Washington receiver. When asked what difference it would have made if the pass had been caught, Baugh replied, "The score would have been 73-7." If Ronaldo had been fit, the score in the '98 Final would've maybe been 3-1.

The French are getting long in the tooth, except for today they haven't played that well to this point in the WC. and they're not particularly well coached. But I guarantee you they're not the first bit afraid of Brazil. Why should they be? Anybody who thinks that a team with Zidane, Henry, Vieira, Makelele et al, is incapable of winning a one-off World Cup match against Brazil is on some strong freakin' drugs. Especially the way Brazil played against Ghana today. That was the least dominating 3-0 win I've ever seen.
