[ QUOTE ] This whole thread is so sad. Why don't you losers try posting your own videos where you are making an honest attempt to help beginning players. Or maybe instead you could make the "pro" version since you have such a high opinion of your own knowledge of the game. Maybe Gary Stevenson could try that instead of posturing (1500+ posts in 14 months! omg get a life you sad little man!!!). It's easy to make fun of something without showing the slightest consideration for its purpose or context. Put up the goods. I dare you. [/ QUOTE ] You created a 2+2 account for THIS? That's so cute! Are you Mark's wife or his daughter? [/ QUOTE ] "lover" |

Maybe Gary Stevenson could try that instead of posturing (1500+ posts in 14 months! omg get a life you sad little man!!!). It's easy to make fun of something without showing the slightest consideration for its purpose or context. Put up the goods. I dare you. [/ QUOTE ] It's purpose or context? Are you joking? In one of these videos (I'm tempted to say "you" here but I'll keep it in third person), this person reraises with ATo in the very first round and then proceeds to explain less than 5 minutes later that ATo should be folded after an open CALL. I'm wondering if the person making this video even watches them after they've been made. The "purpose and context" of these videos is to allegedly provide expert advice on NL hold em from someone who knows what they are talking about. About the best word I can use to describe this is "misguided." I would personally lean more towards the words "fraudulent." The theory is inconsistent, the play is erratic, the teaching aspect is lost in scatterbrained multitasking, and the advice, in some cases, is downright horrible. I think it's admirable that one would try to share what he knows about NL hold em to those who are just starting out and playing the game. However, it is at the very least unfair to those trying to learn this game to pass oneself off as an expert when they are clearly not. What we have here is a case of a person doing extremely well in one big tournament and thinking they are suddenly an authority on NLHE. I should know, I've been there before myself. Tournament NLHE takes hours for most to learn, and years upon years for most to technically master. My advice to the person making these videos is to recognize that they need to learn much more about the game before passing themselves off as an expert. There is clearly a lesson here, and hopefully it will not go unheeded. |

Here's another superb video. This guy (I think it's a guy anyway. maybe not)either folds or moves all-in based on a hand-ranking. There's one exception. If he has pocket aces, he'll make a smaller raise. If you follow his advice, you can apparently become a poker pro. You gotta love this one:
