Well, it shows that KN is mentally retarded and should not be held accountable for his dumb[/b]ass analysis and predictions.

The team that drafts VY will be very disappointed.

I think we can look at Mike Vick as an example.

Young is the poor man's Vick.

In case you haven't noticed Vick is quicker and faster than Young. Even with these abilities Vick has been a disappointment.

Young is considerably taller, not as quick, and slower.

Vince Young has no chance of running in the NFL, he's knees will be broken.

[/ QUOTE ]

I prefer a Randall Cunningham comparison, a former NFL MVP.

WTF!? You have got to be kidding me. Young is a better runner in the open field and he is accurate (something Vick is not). VY showed who the best player was on the field last night, Heisman or not. Hell, Bush wasnt even the best RB on his team last night.

One thing that I noticed about VY over the course of the year is this. If I were to see him running on a field with nobody around him he would look slow. Once you put other players there he seems to be pulling away from them and they appear to be running in mud. Its strange to watch but I think he is mutch faster than he looks when just running in the open field.

It's because he is so tall. This is also the reason why he will not be able to run in the NFL.

How about he's a better Culpepper? Could you imagine taking 50 pounds of Dante? How about Cuningham in his prime? A tall Flutie with a better arm? A taller faster McNair?

He may bust, but frankly the upside is worth the risk considering the bust rate on QB's anyway.

Since we are talking comparisons, I like comparing Young to McNabb, only I think Young will be a better passer. You could even compare him to Steve Young.

I like comparing Leinart to Troy Aikman, I think that's the type of NFL QB he'll be, although maybe not as good. Never spectacular, but just a big guy who always seems get the ball to the right guy. Hopefully whoever drafts him can get him an Irvin and and Emmitt . . .

BTW, I'm a Va Tech fan, I'd say Vick is a poor man's Young. There's something to be said for decision making in a QB, as opposed to just running speed and throwing arm, and that's where Young blows Vick away. Vick never had a game like Young did yesterday. I don't think anyone has since I've been watching college football in the mid-late 80s.

And why would looking at Vick be an example of a very disappointing player? Maybe to the people who expect 25 year old QBs to take crappy teams with no receivers and a bad defense to the promised land all by himself.

But he's taken a team with a history comparable to the Lions to the playoffs both years before this one when he was healthy. Not only that, he won a playoff game each time and played in an NFC Championship Game. He's 25 years old and should be in his 3rd year in the league if he didn't come out early. Sure he didn't have a great year, but to call him a bust is absolutely ridiculous at this point.

If Vick does end up being a disappointment, it will be for the same reason Randall Cunningham was (despite his MVP), he makes terrible decisions and has trouble reading defenses. Not because fast QBs with good arms are doomed to fail in the NFL.
