It appears that Remy and Orsillo haven't slept in a few days... Also, if the White Sox would do it what do you think of giving up Lester for Buhrele? He's ML ready which they would like and honestly isn't turning into Buhrele pretty much Lester's ceiling? I think you would still need to throw in an OF, as long as its Murphy and not Moss that shouldn't be a deal breaker (both are blocked pretty much forever from ever making it to Boston anyways). You keep Buckholtz and Bowden, they will never have more than one rookie starter in the rotation anyways. This deal only works obviously if they want to sign Buhrele long-term (which according to someone, Stark?, is not their intention).

What's up with Tavarez's pic on the red sox site?

It's hard for him to look much worse than normal, but there ya go.

I don't like giving Buehrle 5 years. I think Zambrano could potentially be the better FA for BOS and would probably be a better fit and is a bit younger (might want more money and time). Granted he is a head case, but there have been several 'head cases' go through BOS. Plus Zambrano could be much better as #3 (assuming Schill is gone next year). If Schilling isn't gone, then how much is BOS willing to pay for a #4 in Buehrle?

If it is just for half-season rental, what would CHI take from BOS. WMP? I don't think the FO will give up BOS top prospects for half-season rental.

no thanks on zambrano, i'd rather have buerhle any day. and if they get buerhle, #38 is definitely gone.

depends on who we dealt, but we have lester pretty much ready to go, with bucholz and bowden in the pipeline (no later than '09). we'd probably end up parting with one of those three guys to land buerhle, so the last two spots next year would be something cobbled together from wakefield / tavarez / lester, or one of the other kids if they look ready. also have gabbard and hansack at AAA.

plus i guess there's the outside chance they bring schill back in 08 and go for broke, that could be a sick rotation if they stayed healthy

if they keep schilling then I think wakefield would go, tavarez stays and then i would not have to see lugo, mirabelli, wakefield bat in interleague play anymore .

there is absolutely no chance the red sox will stop renewing wakefield's contract. literally none.

Well, maybe when he's like 48. I freaking love that contract.
