Yeah, i read a post from Strassa where he said he was really surprised with the new wave of poker that Passive were not becoming more standard.
Does he know something? |

Kimo - I really think that being more passive on the turn/river versus players like me could be very profitable assuming I don't adjust well. The problem with being passive is your hands are so readable and I will make super-thin valuebets that will frequently put you in somewhat tuff spots. I think a passive style would really take excellent hand reading skills IMO.

If u cant beat me, just make runner runners, that way u will be able to take my money. If u then proceed to berate me in german, i will go on crazy tilt.

why is it that sometimes in tricky spots, when i assign ranges to players, and push cos i gotta push i lose money. But when i try to get in the head of players, i make great lay downs and calls.
Yesterday i called a pretty big bluff against a player who i would never call such a river bet with if i had seen his stats. But since it was a strange bet and he played the hand weird, I called and I was right. I guess relying too much on pokerace will lose u more money then gain u :S . Or am i using it wrong? sometimes i see threads where some guy has big pair and some passive fish suddenly starts getting aggressive when weird scare card comes (like a second 4 on the turn), and then like 2/3 of the reply's are, 'push ur ahead of his fish range'. I really only use pple's stats now for PFR range, and AF. Is there some guide how to use poker ace properly? Couldnt find it in that essential selection thread. (I remember some guide pokey wrote?) feel free to berate me if im totally wrong, cos i dont have much hands behind my sleeve to prove any of this. |

I hate hangovers. And I hate making out with some random chick and then not wanting to call her because she seems to be one of the games playing kind. I can't concentrate on a damn thing. One completely wasted day. Ugh.

Well I think one reason for this Shizzle is that when people post a comment like 'push ur ahead of his fish range', they have often failed to adjust the range to account for the latest action.
Postflop, villain doesn't actually have a range, he has a range of ranges: a calling one, a checking one, a raising one, a c/r one etc. So a scare turned paired 4 comes in your example, villain wakes up and bets: well, we've now departed from one range and migrated to another. Posters I think sometimes don't account for these dynamic ranges. That's how I see it anyway. |
