[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Cheshire said even if the alleged attackers used a condom, it's likely there would have been some DNA evidence found suggesting an assault took place. He said in this case, the report states there was no DNA on her to indicate that she had sex of any type recently. "The experts will tell you that if there was a condom used they would still be able to pick up DNA, latex, lubricant and all other types of things to show that -- and that's not here," Cheshire said. [/ QUOTE ] It's stuff like this that makes me think the girl is a lying tramp. [/ QUOTE ] "He said in this case, the report states there was no DNA on her to indicate that she had sex of any type recently." (From the SI.com article.) So initial examination on this woman indicated that she had been raped in multiple orifices, but subsequent testing found no evidence she had been having any kind of sex? It sounds to me that the testing process is what's really fishy. The girl hasn't said anything that sounds outlandish compared to evidence available to the public. Of course the attorney will come out with photographs and emails (all produced by people who have a stake in the outcome). Really, some of you people believe whatever you want. You can't see the spin here? NT |

[ QUOTE ] These Duke guys get an unfair rap. Like I said on the main board, everyone of them should sue the skank for slander to set a precedent for playing the race card. [/ QUOTE ] put the bitch in jail [/ QUOTE ] So we have a woman who has been examined by an independent specialist who said she had been raped. Who has not said anything inconsistent or bizarre. Who was in a compromising situation where a rape could have occured, where evidence exists of premeditation on the part of at least one of the accused. But when the DEFENSE ATTORNEYS hired by the accused come out with spin to the contrary and a very puzzling DNA report, we assume that this woman is guilty of slander and people want to put this 'bitch' rape victim in jail. Wonderful. NT |

What was inconsistent and bizarre was that she never told the other "entertainer" that she was raped, and though someone did call 911 (the other girl they believe), it had nothing to do with rape, and was at first that they were walking by the house and got yelled at with racial slurs, and upon further discussion said they were driving by the house (or vice versa). Not the most credible of calls. This along with an apparent lack of DNA evidence doesnt seem like a strong case.
It sure does suck that these guys have lost their season and their reps if it turns out that they didnt rape her. It sounds as if they arent angels, but most of their infractions/citations are for noise and alcohol, none of which is surprising on a college campus (and especially for athletes). This might be one of the biggest rushes to judgement that I can recall. That all being said, if they did do it, I hope their backsides enjoy prison. |

[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, cause there is just a ton of money in getting raped. WTF? Where was the potential payday for this woman? [/ QUOTE ] Are you serious? A bunch of rich white kids living in a house owned by a wealthy private university, and you don't see a possible financial motive? |

No, I don't. Who is she going to sue? She might get like medical bills and therapy or whatever paid for, but that's hardly worth it. Where is the payday?

[/ QUOTE ] You apparently were asleep during the entire Kobe case. Kobe was never convicted of anything, yet Katelyn Faber got a nice fat payday at the end of it all. The girl in this case would sue Duke and the families of every player that was at the party. How much would Duke pay to make this all go away? A lot. How much would the families spend to avoid prosecution from a desperate DA who is up for re-election in 3 weeks? A lot. |

Yeah, but Kobe admitted having sex with her. She didn't invent the entire affair, which is what you allege this stripper did, right?

That's not really how the legal system works. [/ QUOTE ] Right. If she gets $1 million and refuses to cooperate with the investigation, the case goes away. Just like it did with Kobe, just like it did with Michael Jackson, what rock are you living under that you don't think the legal system works this way? |
