glad you see the meta game value. that sb played his hand so weakly postflop is more evidence in favor of a call. dd choosing to only play 44 like that but not 33 and 22 is fine. he's simply picking 1/3 of that range to make that play. might as well pick the one that once in awhile beats A3 when it pairs the 3. good thread joe.

he might play 98s this way but i think he's too smart to play A9s or any other bigger 9 this way because he recognizes the domination problems.

[ QUOTE ] The important point, for Joe, isn't whether DD should play 4-4 here. The important point is whether Joe should know that DD would play 4-4 here. [/ QUOTE ] I knew DD could show up with some small-fry here but I didn't think vs this SB at this time, he would. [/ QUOTE ] exactly. and this is why it is a fold. |

as for being smug, i dont know what youre talking about. [/ QUOTE ] smug –adjective, smug·ger, smug·gest. 1. contentedly confident of one's ability, superiority, or correctness; complacent. he'll correct me if im wrong in this case but i doubt i am, and from my experience it's how he plays. and i defy you to beat him, he would eat you alive. he's one of the toughest live players ive played against, and ive played some pretty tough ones. |

"I am getting 4.5:1" ?? am i missing something? where'd the .5 come from? [/ QUOTE ] Sorry Mike but the way I see 9/2 has been 4.5 even using "new" math. |

that was just the objective truth, not smugness.
bob the problem im having with you is your approach to the game is a common sense, intuitive one -- in other words constantly stating the obvious and rarely thinking beyond level 1, a hindrance to complex analysis and generally in the way. most of it comes in the form of unfunny one sentence posts like "then he is playing bad". it's painful to read and has me bordering on putting you on permanent ignore. |

Schneids,
You've said the first thing in this thread that I really care to learn from - my 4 bet range is nuts there? Here it is for anyone who doesn't want to find it in this long thread: { 44+, A8s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, 98s, AJo+, KQo } Keep in mind I thought SB was more standard since I had very little read. Would you mind sharing your 4 betting range in this spot? Also he was go_seminoles and it's a total mystery to me because I have it on 99.9% authority that he was actually go_seminoles but he was playing bad/weird for days whenever I saw him, limping UTG with A3o 8 handed etc. DpR: You should have introduced yourself! Where did we play? I only ran good at Rio so I'll guess there. Edited to add: I got at least 3 bets on the flop. -DeathDonkey |

Um go_seminoles plays 10/20 - 500/1000 online LHE, he has a super wide range out of the SB.
Maybe he was just running really cold? |

[/ QUOTE ] you clearly have not read what i have written in this thread if this is your take. "then he is playing bad" was not meant to me funny. it is simply what i thought with the information i was given. schneids said the same [censored] thing ("In this hand, with this description from Joe Tall, if DD shows up with 66 or 98s, it is bad.") might as well ignore him too. |
