HOWMANY, fwiw, I thought you played pretty well. Unless you were getting a really good run of cards, you probably 3bet too much from the SB (definitely a limit play). You also seemed to auto-cbet $45, which I think is an error. There are lots of situations in which to check the flop. Especially on the raggy flop with a flush draw, I'm going to have a lot of hands to shove over you with.
I didn't like your turn check with KK vs. my 98s much. I'm betting the turn there ~10% of the time. I'm not betting it with Qx or a random pair, since they're just bluffcatchers. I only bet this time because I picked up the straight draw and thought you'd fold TT/JJ. |

Where is everyone staying when in LV? I'm likely at Mirage.
Also, if you make 0.5 BB/hr playing 20/40 you're probably not going to beat any game where the rake is meaningful. |

censrd, 9th live 15-30 losing session in a row, so sick
this other dude who actually is a solid player was running not that well either, but he started berating one of the donkeys, telling him he sucks at pkr and should read a pokerbook, I was like: dude, wtf? plz don't tell the monkeys to start reading books, but instead I just smiled and said nothing, bc that discussion would be a total waste of my time I'm pretty happy with the hands I played, missed 1 easy value bet and made 1 shaky semi-bluff with an oesd into a donk who I knew wasn't folding (I might have gotten to see a river for free with a check), but hit my straight anyway made a couple of nice laydowns with 2nd best hand as well but for pkrgod's sake, if this ff'in ds isn't turning into some real monies soon, somebody gonna get a hurt real bad lolled pretty hard at that line actually: http://video.google.nl/videoplay?doc...=russel+peters |

[/ QUOTE ] The funny part was that I was hoping you'd 4bet me from the button eventually because I was getting retarded good hands in the sb every time you raised. I think I had AK+/JJ+ every single time I did it. I'm normally like the rock of gibraltar from the blinds because the thought of playing OOP scares me in NL since I can barely play in position. The rest of the stuff you are probably right about. I don't really know when is a good time to not cbet so I just do it like always. What is a better size continuation bet after I 3bet preflop? I thought $45 was reasonable when I'm reraising to $28 but should it be smaller like $35? I feel like I size bets normally/well in 2bet pots but in bigger pots I'm not really sure what to bet on the flop. The table I was on with you was the only one where I had any stack at all, the rest I would fluctuate from like 100-150bb until someone retarded me out of a decent chunk and I'd have to reload. I really want to learn, so I think I might play 4 tables instead of 6, but NL just seems so boring that I like to play as many tables as possible. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well, I'm kind of retardedly aggro from the button, so I'm just not going to pick up a hand very often I'm willing to see a flop with. Decided to take a stand when I got 98s, but had some bad timing there. By the way, I'm not going to be 4betting from the button much. I'd only do it if I had a really good hand and was certain my opponent was going to stack off with worse. I'd usually smoothcall aces there as well. I have position, why waste it? As for c-bets, I usually prefer something like $38 into a $60 pot. I think people are usually pretty honest in 3bet pots, so I don't really need to bet more to avoid getting raised lightly. This works well for me because I reraise with suited trash a fair bit, so the less I invest the better. $45 is probably better if you're usually going to be showing up with a real hand. $38 also allows me to be second-barrel without committing my whole stack. On the board where I shoved over you, expect to get played back at, given our history. In my perception of your range (apparently skewed), you're not going to be paired there a lot, so any FD is an easy shove. But then again, if your range really is AK,JJ+ there, you kind of have to bet AK for metagame. |

flop: 345 rainbow check around to button, who bets, and i cr... bb calls, cutoff calls, button calls... turn: 5 i bet everyone calls river: 5 i bet, cutoff calls, button visibly upset and shows his 33... i show monster and scoop... what do you guys think cutoff have? 22? a2? 67? 4 w/ a "bad kicker"? At a 6/12 game today before moving to 20/40, I was able to raise in second position in an 8 handed game with 37o knowing there was a 70+% chance I was winning the blinds, and another 10-15% chance to win on the flop.
The guy UTG folded, I looked down, and as doing that, the guy next to me looked at his cards, and got up. I looked around, the BB was the tighest player in the game, the SB was someone who wouldn't call without a hand. The button and another MP had their hands cocked ready to fold. I only had to worry about the cutoff, as he was an unknown, but I raised anyways, and perfecto! You just can't teach that. |

Mitch,
Good to meet you. Also, the 20 game at the Rio was ridiculous today. Girl in 9 seat is talking about how games are really good at Wynn because "that's where all the tourists are" and all the games at Rio have "real poker players" The hand before she open limps UTG w 49sooted. Good luck with the rest of the Series. |
