[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] google map screencap plz [/ QUOTE ] OK, I'm not totally thrilled about how the angle of this shot portrays my case. When the neighbor parks in front of his garage, it's DIRECTLY across from my driveway. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] She drives an X5. [/ QUOTE ] these are very unfortunate facts for your case. X5's are tiny. i am personally confident I could get a uhaul out of that driveway with a car parking in the offending spot with very little difficulty. [/ QUOTE ] </noticing the lack of people giving me crap now that we can see for ourselves how much (ample) room there is to manuever and that the "SUV" is question is no larger the an Altima. Also, are we sure this isn't just about "those apartment type people" interfering with your "rights" as a large home owner? |

LFS, The more I think about it she should just deliberately hit their car now, something minor in like the $200-300 range, just to get it over with. Then you can explain that she's crazy like that and they probably won't park there anymore. Preemptive strike, if you will. [/ QUOTE ] Solid plan. Then when they park somewhere else, find their car and put a nice flower on it. Continue as needed until you have them trained. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] - Teaching her to back into the driveway is out of the question. [/ QUOTE ] So it's harder than her backing out of the driveway with a car directly across? [/ QUOTE ] Wife hitting neighbor's car > wife hitting my house [/ QUOTE ] Just out of idle curiosity, is your wife Asian? |

Now that I see the google maps pic, I'm gonna have to agree with By-Tor that I could probably get anything smaller than a semi out of that driveway.
When you said side street I was picturing like an alleyway. Unless the angle of this shot is grossly exaggerating the size of the street, your wife really just needs to take the extra 5 seconds to back out properly. |

[ QUOTE ]
Here's another angle: [/ QUOTE ] Not sure if I missed this, but unless there are cars parked on both side of the street right on either side of your driveway, it still doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to get out. PS- LFS, Just accept that your wife is a bad driver and if she was good it wouldn't be an issue. Doesn't really matter. I think it's still fine for you to go and ask them. If they respond with "we like to park right in front so we can keep an eye on it" or something reasonable, then let it go. To me the degree of difficulty doesn't go to whether you should approach them or not, just whether or not you should accept a refusal. |

LFS,
This is starting to take on the appearance of a not-so-thinly-veiled "check out LFS's 3500 square foot two-story house in upper-middle-class Los Angeles" brag thread. All we need is OJ driving around with cops following him for the image to be complete. |
