[ QUOTE ]
Yes, I understand rationally gay dude may not be attracted to me, and prolly not necessarily thinking about banging me, but I would still have this visceral reaction in a situation where we are both naked and standing next to one another... [/ QUOTE ] This always gets brought up, and the gay guys always say, "Just because you're showering with me, doesn't mean I'm attracted to you." Conveniently, they always leave off the, "On the other hand, I might be and if I am then I'll probably be checking out wyour schlong." |

I would like to shower with the Texas women's volleyball team, and tell them, "Yes, I am a heterosexual male, and yes, I am particularly attracted to great female asses, and yes, the training for your sport seems to give you all the most glorious, perfectly shaped rock-hard tight asses in the world, and yes, I will probably look at all of your perfect naked asses while we are showering together, but just because I am showering with you doesn't mean I am attracted to you."

IMO it's perfectly normal for most guys to be a bit uncomfortable sharing a shower with someone who is gay. I know personally I'd feel uneasy about showering with anyone who might be attracted to me where the feelings weren't reciprocal whether it be someone who is gay, or a fat or butt-ugly woman

Haha - I would like to shower with them, also.
It's retarded that the issue, at all, is a straight man's discomfiture in this situation. It's so blatant - the gay male has a decent chance to be attracted to a naked male (especially a world-class athlete), as it is his wont... while a straight guy will be a little put off by this possibility, as he is not into the idea of a man banging him. The issue should just concern tolerance and understanding. And because of the sexual dynamic that's a part of this, it's not perfectly correlated with accepting other minorities, though the fundamentals are similar. -Al |

If I were showering with a bunch of hot female athletes I'd be checking out all the boobs, butts and pussies I could see. [/ QUOTE ] Until security shows up, at least. |

Gay men are attracted to MEN period, not to gay men specifically. They claim otherwise to avoid people getting too upset.
They are aroused by other males. They don't verify a man is gay and then all the sudden become attracted to him. They might verify it before they TRY anything, but a lack of action doesn't mean a lack of attraction. Do you as a straight man care if a hot girl is a lesbo or not?? No, you are attracted to her either way. No, you see a chick and you might think she's hot. You don't verify that she's on the same sexual "wavelength" as you before the attraction kicks in. A group of Playboy Playmates wants to shower with you, but they are all strictly lesbian and not interested in you at all sexually, so don't get excited k? The news and entertainment media are adamently pro-homosexaual almost across the boards. They know alot of straights are uncomfortable with the idea of gay people being attracted to them so they downplay it. They split men and women's rest rooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, etc. for a reason. |

[ QUOTE ]
As for the 10% thing, I've heard many many times that the % of gay people in out population is 10%. [/ QUOTE ] I've heard many many times that homosexuality is a sin, too. Is that information factual? I personally doubt the 10% figure strongly; I think it's not likely to be accurate unless we're considering an extremely broad definition of gayness where anything that even hints at a sexual encounter with a person of the same sex at any point in their life counts. |

[/ QUOTE ] Alright, alright, whatever. The main thing I was presenting was that I think the % of gay pro athletes is at least the same as the general population. If it's not 10%, then ok, I'm wrong about that. |

Look, just because I shower with them doesn't mean I'm attracted to them... now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go beat off in the toilet stall." |

This thread just gave me a great idea.
Walk into a government building and hang out in a ladies room. Sue them for gender discrimination after they throw you out. PROFIT! |
