yea, elliott smith's death made me horribly sad. kurt cobain a little less so, but still a decent amount. and thirdly, id say river phoenix.

morbidly, i think its kind of fun when celebrities die.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure that I would use the word fun, but I kind of know what you mean.

A really unexpected and extreme celebrity death does add a certain buzz to one's day.

Feel free to laugh but I was saddened by the death of Mr. Rogers. It may be cool to make fun of his incurable lack of hipness but he was a genuinely caring person who did a lot of good in the world.

[/ QUOTE ]

Plus he was a badass sniper that had quite a few confirmed kills.

Wrong

It's a bit sad whenever somebody (aside from an axe murderer or whatever) dies so many years short of a normal life expectancy. Though of course she got many orders of magnitude more out of existence than so many others, particularly young kids in the third world. Of course she was kind of in our faces and a media invention of little real importance, but dead is still dead.

This guy He was a rather famous Soviet rock-musician. 15 years after his death they still hold annual concerts in his memory. I was 12 and easily saddened, I suppose. I was quite shocked. Obviously, his untimely death in a motorcycle crash only helped the sales.

That, and Phil Hartman. I loved Newsradio. Boo Jon Lovitz.

Actually this wasn't first hand knowledge of mine. My buddy who is a marine was told this by his drill instructor. I guess the Marines perpetuate this lie also. Or maybe he really was a badass sniper and they are hiding it????????
