Mr.K, now that chances of anti-gambling language finding its way into the DoD bill are fading, where should we focus our efforts? Who should we call? Who should we write? Who can we give money to?
I have been following these thread closely -- mostly lurking -- and I feel a bit helpless here sitting on the sidelines just watching. I want to help the effort some way, but don't know how. As always, your updates and insight are GREATLY appreciated. |

Simply stop the hype and premature exclamatory phrases, all of which seem designed to garner publicity solely for your organization and do nothing to advance "The Cause". Skeptically viewed, it looks like you sit and read press reports and them regurgitate them in an "Offical" prose. If you have worked the Hill, which a number of posters here have or do, then you know damn well there is nothing "Official" about your reporting or your unnamed source, nor are you a "MAJOR new publication", as yet. [/ QUOTE ] Really, you ought to just shut up. You're adding nothing but antagonism to the situation. You're not helping at all. |

The idiot CEO Rose decided to choose today (why this week? Who knows?!) to announce that CRYP will be moving HQ to Ireland, and that he will remain with the company until 2007 when a new CEO will emerge from a slot-machine somewhere.
The big hit is unwarranted, except that (a) there is some cost (I think $8M) involved with the move and, (b) he chose a horrible week and horrible time [when the stock was recovering] to do it. On the positive side, taxes in Ireland are significantly lower and it seems they will recover all expenses in under three years if not sooner. I'm guessing the stock will resume its upmove in a day or so. If the bill is dead, it should crack 30 very soon. |

Here you go:
CryptoLogic shares fell C$3.36, or 11 percent, to C$26.70 by the 4 p.m. close of trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the steepest decline since August 2005. Investors are concerned over the continuity of the management team and an increase in costs to operate in Ireland, Nowak said. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...p;refer=canada |

[/ QUOTE ] Crypto announced today that its CEO was resigning, and that it's relocating from HQ Canada to Ireland. These are huge events, particuarly for a small cap company, and the markets reacted negatively to them. It's always worth doing a quick GoogleNews search when you see a major share price shift like this for one of the gambling companies. Oftentimes these shifts are brought about by regulatory developments in other countries, analyst recommendations, earnings reports, corporate announcements, or macroeconomic factors, rather than anything having immediately to do with the legislation. |

"We have a very great team working to protect your rights and regardless of what we read here...we'll continue to do so."
Come down off the high horse. It is not like there are only freeriders here. Anyway, your style stinks of hypocrisy... the 2" penis remark you made was plain stupid. If "Michael and the gang at PPA" have been so great to work with, as you put it, why are you blasting their phone effort as a 2" penis remark ? (The phone effort WAS a good effort, for which they deserve credit, not some back-handed swipe.) |

While false hope is a bad thing being uninformed is worse. Surely the guys at NROG have something major at stake in this fight. Perhaps they are big poker affiliates, perhaps they are shareholders in poker rooms, perhaps they're just major online players. But it strikes me as both ironic and unfortunate that folks here simultaneously rip the 2+2 owners for inaction and rip NROG for their efforts.
No one is saying the fight is over or that we should be complacent. And as long as everyone keeps that in mind then even in the very unlikely scenario that NROG is a troll it won't make a bit of difference. I for one thank NROG for their efforts and for their posts and hope that both will continue. The last thing we need to do is to discourage and demotivate those on the front lines of this fight. Just my $0.02. |
