When I saw the title of this thread, I thought "no way."

But this is actually a great idea.

It is so annoying to have 1/2 hands in MSNL. 1/2 is just not MSNL. At the same time it is absurd to have 1/2 hands mixed in wth .10/.25.

So I really like this. The micro forum will let people focus on really basic advice, basic preflop standards, bet sizing, etc, when they need that. 100NL and 200NL at SS is perfect, and then MSNL will really be MSNL, as 1/2 and 2/4 are really totally different and do not belong in the same forum.

As other members have stated, this forum is so large that posts do get lost in the shuffle. So I'm for it.

I think this is perfect. Today there is so much traffic in SSNL that lots of interesting posts dies, because they soon disapear.

Shameless bump example ( yvesaints well comments being the interesting bit)

Someone in another long lost thread asked if there was a summary- I lost the thread but was reading yvesaints responses and taking notes so thought I'd do a Dory.

If the above proposal is carried through is there any chance of say a dedicated thread in SSNL where Micro Posts judged by the mods as being worthy of deeper discussion could be posted for consideration by more experienced players?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I think this is a good idea. Maybee one or two posts a week/month could be voted post of the week/month, and then moved one level up for analysis from the bigger brothers.

This could also been done in SSNL, where to most popular/interesting hand get moved up to MSNL for analysis.

I'm for it. 25NL and 50NL do play differently than 100NL/200NL from my experience.

Do it up.

I think this is good for everybody apart form the micro levels because alot of these players rely on advice form people playing higher levels. So now it will be the responability of the better micro players who may well be moving up soon anyway. I think for Micro to survive this the better micro players would have to stick together. I dont like it but then if i was playing small and not micro i probably would so..

to split or not to split - that is the queston...

I think a split is inevitable this is such a high traffic forum, and those divisions look about as good as any.

I am still playing "micros" so I will be hanging around in the new forum anyway but SSNL is getting too big and I think that a split is a good thing.

If anything I'd split it further and add a further SSNL6m forum - certainly for SSNL and for other stakes if required as well, similar to the way the LIMIT forums are split. I'd like to see a NL Headsup forum while we're adding new ones as well. I think there is enough traffic for several new forums and most people who start to play online these days tend to play No Limit because thats what they saw on tv so I think that the SSNL as we have now is only going to get busier and busier in the future.

I also prefer the 6 max split compared to the stakes being played. I don't think enough quality traffic will flow through the micro stakes.

I agree...I definately think there are drawbacks and concerns, but I think the good outweighs the bad. Success of a micro forum will largely depend on the moderators and willingness of people who play higher limits to stop by. I started on 2p2 in the micro-limit forum and I think it's a great forum, so it obviously can be successful.
