Just to show how old I am, I will bring up a candy bar that was discontinued before most of you were born.

The Reggie Bar

It actually didn't taste that great. It tended to taste better if you left it half-opened overnight. But just the fact that it was named after Reggie Jackson made it great.

[/ QUOTE ]

And when you opened it up, it told you how good it was.

HEY-O!!!

Two foods I really miss:

1. The Double Decker Pizza from Pizza Hut. It only was tested for a short time, and I guess it wasn't that big a hit, but I think it's the best pizza I ever ate. One crust topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella, like a regular cheese pizza, then ANOTHER crust on top of that, with more sauce, cheese and whatever other toppings you wanted. Lord have mercy, it was delicious.

2. Lemon Creme Pie ice cream from Blue Bell. We folks here in Texas are a little snobby about our ice cream, and we all think Blue Bell is the best anywhere. When I was a kid, they had Lemon Creme Pie for a while... basically lemon meringue pie ice cream, including bits of pie crust. Mmmmm.

My wife wants me to post this one for her:

I remember when the Charles' Chip man came by in the delivery truck once a week (like the old milk man)...

[/ QUOTE ]

OMG. Tuesdays were great days.

[ QUOTE ]
When Trix cereal came in the ball shapes, not the fruit shapes. They were ok for a while but then changed the recipe (think Coke) and completely screwed up the cereal forever.

[/ QUOTE ]

WTF when did this happen?

Fizzies. Meant to make a flavored fizzy drink when dropped in water, they were actually about the most fun candy ever, until the cyclamates hullaballoo took them off the market. I'll always miss 'em!

Also a big fan of Sweet Tarts back when they were a little tarter, and of lemon drops that were actually sour for more than a split second, and not just a sugary lemon flavored drop. And easy to find sourballs that were really sour.

Fruit Stripe Gum. You know, the one with the Zebra. Wikipedia does a good job: "notorious for its strong but fleeting flavor."
