Most people understand I'm balla when I pull a grand or more out of my pocket to buy drinks...

[/ QUOTE ]

They must've been expensive drinks or you have a lot of friends. Either way --> balla!

My old boss found out through the grapevine somehow. She asked me lots of questions about it for a while, then told me her dad left her mom and has been a degenerate low stakes grinder in California for her whole life.

Sorry lady, tell your dad thanks for the monies.

I'm always afraid to meet someone who'll be like "My dad lost his life savings playing online poker."

"Uh...my bad?"

How did you really handle that?

My home game plays deep. We play 1/1 NLH but often buy in for $500 or so. I'm the only way who plays high stakes, but everyone has a good job so they can afford to lose but they aren't used to throwing the money around. I love to bet 10x and 20x pot. The other day, I raised to $2 in the SB and the BB made it $6. I made it $200 and he folded despite 'knowing' that I had nothing. I had 42o and showed, obv. Yay for home games!

If people start bugging me about poker I just start to explain equity equations in GREAT detail, like a 15 minute rant. After that they are either, impressed, confused, or have lost interest completely and never bring it up again. Any of those 3 options are fine.
