I have never had a good relationship with my parents because they are rednecks and I am generation x and see very differently than they do. My childhood was kind of shakey. My father was an alcoholic turned rehabilitated christian and my mother once worked as a stripper. Throughout grade school, my Mom would tell my friends how she used to strip until she found Jesus.
I of course, became educated and realized that all Christians are idiots. This was around the first year of high school. This created a very confrontational home setting. My parents would sometimes threathen to kick me out of the house. This afternoon, I was about to score with a freshman chick and my Mom knows so she just keeps knocking on my door asking if we want cookies, does Sherry want to call her parents and tell them where she is (its 4:30 pm) and she knocks on the door to ask if Sherry goes to church. WTF? After this I just couldnt help myself. I ironically told her, "No Mom, Sherry is a buddhist. I guess she is going to burn in hell. Now please leave us alone so we can [censored]." After that I slammed the door in her face. Sherry was obviously shaken and I knew that I was no longer getting laid. So I just tell her to go home. My Dad always has perfect timing and he gets home as she walks out the door. He fixs roofs when he isnt praying to Jesus. My Mom tells him what happens while I stay in my room listening to Tool trying to perserve any sense of dignity or individuality. He opens the door, despite it being locked, and wants to know what happened. I tell him bluntly, "I am a Nihilist". He says what is that, and starts giving me a speech, mostly jibberish. I must have told him six times that I was a nihilist. Finally, I took the Webster's Dictionary off of the shelf and opened it to the N section, and I ripped out the page that contained Nihilism. I told him to read this since he was so stupid. He took of his belt and looks like he wanted to hit me (he did when I was a kid), but he then refrained himself and just left my room. I went back to listening to Tool. We havent spoke since. I dont know what to do. |
