I don't understand how people think USC is going to win this game easily. USC's defense is not good, anybody saying otherwise is fooling themselves. Texas' offense is great, don't forget they actually averaged more points a game than USC. USC's special teams are absolutely horrendus, Texas is one of the best in that area. Neither team will be able to stop the other, and this ends up being a shootout, 38-35 it could go either way. But no way is USC a TD better, let alone 20 points better. This USC team while great is overrated, they aren't even better than last year's team because the D on last year's team matched the offense which is why they destroyed Oklahoma.

USC destroyed that same Oklahoma team which blanked Texas, (14-0, 17-0 maybe?) last year. Of course many Oklahoma players were drafted to the NFL, and i'm sure a fair amount of Longhorns players were too.. but surely a lot of the roster is intact... Vince Young was still QB. And when comparing performance against other teams, what about Texas' really poor performance near year-end vs Texas A&M?

Everyone knows about Bush, but USC has not even needed to feature him in the easier matchups. The 2 close games mentioned, Fresno/Notre Dame saw plenty of Bush and the impact he could have. The D might be worse than last year but they still have plenty of talent, and USC has expanded their offense. I do agrees special teams could come into play and USC's D has underachieved a bit.. but coaching, motivations, and overall big game experience on that roster will come into play tonight. Also not putting too much weight into scoring averages as with a lot of NCAA games, plenty of the score were, or could be run up much higher if necessary.

But that being said... it could go eithre way and I'm leaning towards USC. I have USC -7, and USC as a pickem (with a earlier teaser from the WVU game).. but not a significant unit bet.. just hoping that this is a great and entertaining game.

Texas beats OSU. USC gets lucky to beat ND. OSU thumps ND.

OSU wasn't as good against Tex as they were against ND. Also, this A beat B and B beat C so A will beat C is always bad logic.

Texas +7.5 seems like an easy bet. USC should be a favorite, but there is no reason to think they can't lose or will win easily.

4/6 BCS computer rankings put Texas in the #1 spot at the end of the season, all this talk about Texas having an easy schedule is BS. There is do doubt USC is the favorite. They have been the #1 team all season in the polls and every sports writer in the nation seems to have a hard-on for this team.

Texas averaged 50.9 points per game and allowed only 14.6
Texas averaged 508 yards per game

USC averaged 50 points per game and allowed 21.3
USC averaged 580 yards per game

Anyone who thinks the outcome is a forgone conclusion is deluding themselves. Both of these are solid teams with a real chance to win this game. A particularly good or bad day for one or two key players on either team could be the difference.

We'll know soon enough. Good luck everyone.

Well looking at the lines today and what they were last night, all the money today is coming in late on Texas. IIRC, late money came in on OU last year vs. USC, so I don't mind this at all.

Another overrated Big 12 giant goes down. Give Pete Carroll weeks to prepare and he will lock up anyone- just ask UCLA, who nobody was stopping all year. Texas plays into our strengths on D. They primarily run the ball, and our best defensive unit is our defensive line. Asking our players to stop the run and limit the big pass is a lot better than stopping some of the passing attacks they encountered in the Pac-10 and vs. Notre Dame, which they did well at.

Well, good luck to you all, but I'm on USC -7. Had it at -115 before, but now that it's at -105 I'll be putting more down.

Default Different Lines/Same Site

My roomate is trying to get USC -7 on Bodog, when he went to confirm his bet, it alerted him to a line change to USC -7.5. I told him to wait since I don't think it will go to 8, but It might go back to 7 (we are not big $$ players so even if it doesn't who cares) However, while I'm logged in, I can still get USC -7 -105. I tried to bet USC-7 -105 and it accepted it. I ran backupstairs to tell him, he tried again to get -7, and all he could get is 7.5. As of right now, my Line is 7 and his is 7.5. Is this odd? Different lines for different users? Is there anyway to exploit this?

Bodog deals square lines to some players and sharp lines to others. Doesn't take long to get the crappy lines if you're betting decent amounts, scalping or really do anything to suggest you're not the dumbest bettor on the block.

I like the under. 70 points just seems too high for these 2 defenses.
