Default 88 --> OESD

Normally I raise preflop, but the sheer number of loose passives at the table induces the limp. On the flop I'm out of this hand: the sheer aggression is that unlike anything their stats would suggest I expect.

Does anyone play this differently?

I think I'd still raise preflop. Does the button never ever fold because I can live with the blinds calling along with the open limper.

I would call the flop and re-evaluate the turn once the board pairs.

I do not fold this one on the flop. I've got way too many outs and lots of company at this point to help with the odds. OESD + 2 more 8's and my 8's hurt other players chances of getting a straight. Unless the MP2 raise is completely out of character, I make that cold call.

And then, I admit I would be really PO'ed when I get c/r'ed on the turn. MP2 does not have the straight. 3 5's from BB is what I fear.

I may go down with this ship, but BB could be c/r ing a weaker two pair and your 8's are the overpair. Is BB that tricky is using a c/r?

This hand presents, for me, two tough questions from two different villians. Can someone else throw more light on this puzzle? I do not fold the flop, but I may regret that choice. Interesting and challenging hand.

The only problem with your reasoning is that 4 of the loose-passives folded! You're second in, one off the button. You MUST raise this hand, so that what happened doesn't happen: the SB and BB come along with any two. As it went down, like another guy said, call the flop and reevaluate on the turn. You have two stoppers to the nut straight, so if a 4 or 9 comes you very well may have the nuts.

RAISE preflop.

3-bet the flop.

Given that line:
-What do we do if we are bet into on the turn? (Fold)
-If checked to on the turn do we take the free card or do we risk being check-raised? (Check) What do we do if we are c/r on the turn? (Fold)

I would REALLY like to know how you guys play this hand on the turn because I feel I need to improve my turn play the most.
