Jared Allen has had 3 DUI's and spent 48 hours in jail as a result of the most recent one. He will serve a 4-game suspension to start this season.

[/ QUOTE ] Not to be callous, but that story isn't nearly as sad as the woman being killed by Little. A couple of buddies getting drunk and driving and one of them dying is nowhere near as tragic as taking out an innocent bystander.

[/ QUOTE ] Oh, I 100% agree - and that's why I think Heatley didn't deserve any punishment from the NHL as a result, whereas Little should have been punished. Snyder wanted to see what his friend's Ferrari could do.

If he was, that would have been prison + suspension 100% of the time, and Snyder's family would have never ever stood by him. Obv. speeding is not even near the same level of crime as drunk driving, regardless of the outcome. If the US actually had roads where there were no speed limits, accidents like Heatley's 85 in a 40 would happen much much less. Highway speed limits encourage non-highway speeding.
