I'm pretty happy about Coste being brought up. It's also awesome to see him do well his first game back. He's a great guy to have off the bench (even if I'd rather have him and Ruiz platooning at C), since he always gives you good atbats.

Nunez is limited with the bat, but his defense is a pretty big upgrade. Dobbs has to be in the lineup everyday against a righty. Has to be, whether it's in left or 3B.

At least they won today. Kyle Kendrick looks to be a great fit at CBP with the way he throws ground balls.

[/ QUOTE ]Kendrick is a decent callup at least. The other two have no business even being in AAA in my view.

Has anyone here ever tried posting on the Philly.com Phillies boards?

I've never seen a more clueless bunch than the fools on that forum

Example: One guy blames Charlie for not pinch-running for Helms at 3rd base for Coste's at-bat in the 9th tonight, saying that we would have scored on that ground ball if it had been anyone else at 3rd base

I turned off the game before the 9th, but given we lost by a couple runs I cannot imagine pinch running for helms on 3rd would be correct.

0% chance they win after that blown double play call, right?

Is Victorino always a little [censored] on the basepaths?

I don't see him a lot, but I just saw him pull a prick move for the 2nd time this year. The first was when he was in a run-down and ran 10 feet out of the baseline to make contact with Vizquel.

Here he gets forced out at 2nd on the FC. Biggio drops the ball on the transfer, and Victorino basically tries to block him out (NBA rebound style) from getting to the ball which rolled a few feet away, while yelling and waving at the runner at 3rd to run home.

WTF?

He seems like a decent enough player to not have to do bush league things like that.

It was a little strange, thats for sure. It would have been idiotic for Utley to attempt to score there.
